I recently installed the latest ubuntu on my old inspiron 1300.
Right away I had no wireless internet, so i connected the LAN cable which worked fine. I updated the system and checked...

The thing is, whenever I make the font larger, it does look nice..and it does look anti-aliased.. but if i used fontsize 10+bolt it looks like i'm back in 1998..

While I have no problem playing music or videos, rhythmbox keeps prompting me with the fact that im missing codecs.
I checked over at the rhythmbox IRC but they tell me it's ubuntu...

i tried doing this, but it also marks build-essential, automake etc for removal when i mark '-dev' files for removal..
I can't remove the -devs without removing build-essential etc:confused:

I have this problem.
However, if i use calibri in OpenOffice, it's also ugly.. any help?
I had the Vista fonts installed for open office before i used word 2007..then calibri didnt work either

awesome, having a new folder just for office fixed it!
It's weird that the guides are so outdated, since they're for 8.10.. ah well guess wine really improved since the guides were written

Finally, now on Ibex and newest nvidia drivers, my hibernation works...but it takes FOREVER.. im talking 2/3 minutes here. It actually takes longer to resume from hibernation than to start up...
