[ubuntu] Re: LTSP New User Accounts

I believe you need to create these accounts on your ltsp server (not the client). They should then be available for login on the clients.

Samsung SSD 840 Not Recognized >12.04

I've been running 12.04 Precise for quite some time without any issues. I've tried to go to 14.04 and also 16.04, but something within the newer kernels (I believe) is preventing it from recognizing...

[ubuntu] Re: 14.04 (Trusty Tahr) known bugs and work arounds

I got the "Your current Hardware Enablement Stack (HWE)" because I'm on 12.04 LTS, so I installed the newer HWE version instead of going to 14.04... Upon reboot I was getting stuck in a busybox shell...
  8. Re: 12.04 Network not working sometimes after restart

I spoke too soon. Soon after I had one case where I could not ssh in... I'm trying it with the power_down and "msi" and "msix" parameters now... Will report back if I have any issues.
  9. Re: 12.04 Network not working sometimes after restart

    Update:

I added the "msi" and "msix" parameters (without the power_down) a week or so ago and things have been working out... I've been able to WOL my computer and ssh into it without any...
  10. Re: 12.04 Network not working sometimes after restart

  11. Re: 12.04 Network not working sometimes after restart

phy_power_down did not work, and I tried setting the speed to 100 Mbps/full-duplex with ethtool but that did not persist after a restart and did not help either... Is there any log file I can provide...
  12. Re: 12.04 Network not working sometimes after restart

    Thank you for the suggestions.

One thing I noticed last night when it was in a non-working state was that I had to hold the power button down to do a hard reboot to get it back to working because...

  14. Re: 12.04 Network not working sometimes after restart

  17. [ubuntu] Re: crontab only working intermittently for main account

Is there a recommended way of cron'ing an rsync to a remote server? Like a "cron" account that I could setup the trust with?
  18. [ubuntu] Re: crontab only working intermittently for main account

    Thanks for your help!

Now If I could get an rsync to work within the wrapper script to copy my backup files over to another server, we would be in business... But I think the encrypted home...
  19. [ubuntu] Re: crontab only working intermittently for main account

I ended up moving everything to a /var/mysql/ directory which contains my scripts, log, and backup directory... From my initial tests, it appears to be working, but I was in this boat before where it...
  20. [ubuntu] Re: crontab only working intermittently for main account

I meant to append to the logs (>>), not overwrite (>), must of tried changing that during one of my tests, but I can't imagine that being the issue, I'm thinking maybe a scripting issue now? I will...
  21. [ubuntu] Re: crontab only working intermittently for main account
