  1. Re: Laptop not recognising that I am on/off battery in Trusty

I see. I actually use Linux Mint. But I figured my issue is not necessarily a Linux Mint distro issue, but a Ubuntu and Ubuntu-distro one.
  2. Re: Laptop not recognising that I am on/off battery in Trusty

I do not have 'indicator-power' installed. However, is it for Unity? If so, I do not use Unity.

To install that package, it requires the following to be installed as well:

    unity-control-center...
  3. Re: 'Make' error in Trusty when using 'debuild' (works in previous Ubuntu versions)

I think I have found the culprit to this problem. It relates to dh-make. I believe version 0.63 (and 1.20140617 for Utopic) has something in it that changed which causes the error. I have uninstalled...
  4. Re: Laptop not recognising that I am on/off battery in Trusty

Thanks for the suggestion, but running 'cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/info' or even 'cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/info' yields no results.
I also tried adding acpi=force onto the line...
  5. Re: Laptop not recognising that I am on/off battery in Trusty

Thanks for the suggestion. The commands you gave do show my battery is being recognised. Since it works off battery and does show me it is on battery, I figured something would say it is working....
  6. Laptop not recognising that I am on/off battery in Trusty

This is a problem that I first noticed in Saucy. Anyway, what happens is my battery seems to be somewhat ignored when I try to use my laptop solely on battery power. It will still work just fine, but...
  7. 'Make' error in Trusty when using 'debuild' (works in previous Ubuntu versions)

Ever since I did a fresh install of Ubuntu Trusty, I have been unable to build a package for use in my Launchpad PPA. The issue is not in uploading a package, but before that, when running 'debuild...
  8. Re: Intellivision Emulator for Android...possible port of gtk-intv, perhaps?

    Bump.
  9. Intellivision Emulator for Android...possible port of gtk-intv, perhaps?

First, I know this isn't the right place for this, but I do not really know where else to ask. Plus, as it is a Debian package, it does sort of fit here.

Anyway, a while back I ran across an...
  10. [all variants] Re: Get the Canon Pixma MP495 working in 10.10 (Maverick)

This was the method that worked for me. From what I recall, it is pretty much the same as what is mentioned at the beginning of this thread:

  11. [all variants] Re: Get the Canon Pixma MP495 working in 10.10 (Maverick)

+1 for it working in Oneiric for me as well.

It actually works for me just fine in both Oneiric AND Natty. No better or worse. Personally, I did have one issue while using Natty, in which I had to...

Re: Remastersys is back in active development

The resulting size of the custom.iso made was 1.7GB, which comprises a total filesystem of 5.1GB (approximately 220MB is my total size of my home folder), and I tried to copy that custom.iso onto a...

Re: Remastersys is back in active development

Thanks for the suggestion, however it wasn't there in the first place. I used the defaults:

    # Here you can change the mksquashfs options
    #SQUASHFSOPTS="-no-recovery -always-use-fragments...

Re: Remastersys is back in active development

After finally testing out Remastersys, beta version 3.0, I am afraid it did not work for me in making a proper ISO in Backup Mode for me for my 11.10 Oneiric machine.

    It installed just fine, and...

Re: Remastersys is back in active development

Hmm, thanks for finding that bit of info on the startup disk creator. It makes sense. Though, I don't know why that would be the 'minimum'. If all you are doing is a little saving here and there in a...

Re: Remastersys is back in active development

Speaking about Ubuntu's usb creator, do you know why all Remastersys backed-up ISOs, when used with usb-creator-gtk, grey out the persistence space option? This only ever seems to happen with...

Re: Remastersys is back in active development

Precisely. That was my thoughts when I saw that the remastersys fork, relinux, was having it removed as a default. Of course, I know it is more for Distro backups, and as a Backup backup person,...

Re: Remastersys is back in active development

Hey cool, man. I will have to look at this when I get a few moments. Glad you see you are coming along so much so fast.

So the DistSkel option will actually make a Distro ISO that includes all of...

[all variants] Re: Oneiric known Bugs WITH Work Arounds

If you are referring to the missing shutdown button in Gnome-Shell, you can also fix that by installing gnome-shell-extensions-alternative-status-menu. Most distros have this in the repos (although,...
  23. [ubuntu] Re: Getting no display when trying to install Oneiric on an HP Pavilion dv6-6000 seri

Thanks for the link. The problems mentioned there do seem to be a part of what my issue is. However, after trying all of the possible combinations, it still fails to boot into the live disc.

Re: Remastersys is back in active development

Cool. I'll look forward to not having to deal with that ~/Desktop' text file. :) And although I usually use the Backup Mode, I will also have to check what's new with the Distro Mode, as mentioned.
