Hmm any reason why you can't use Intrepid if that run well? You are not alone, trust me :-)
Lets say you have to store "hello" into an unknown size char array.
Then just.
#include <stdlib.h>
#include <stdio.h>
int main(void)
{
Hello
I wonder how you could use the capability of 2d (or 3d acceleration) from you gfx card, for lets say, stream a video from you webcam.
If for an example I wan't to draw a frame from opencv...
I always install the fglrx drivers as deb files. Making the deb files with the --buildpkg command. So apt SHOULD actually remove it all.
Anyway, I found the problem. It was some wrong symlinks...
Why? Its deb related I think. And I don't think the Ati knows the packaging system as well as ubuntu users.
Anyway, I would be glad if anyone had an idea.
Hello everyone.
I'm not here to complain, because its my own fault installing an alpha driver :) The Catalyst 9.4.
But now when I have removed it (purged), and installed the older fglrx 9.2,...
Ok, I just thought a big bug like that is adressed before releasing a RC. My fault :-)
Ill live with it until next release. :D
Kde 4.2 is so sweeet
Hi all.
After testing kde 4.2 beta 2 on ubuntu for some time, I have installed a clean kubuntu with kde 4.2 RC1.
I am impressed, and don't regret moving to kubuntu. Though I have some problems...

Exactly, I can't use the "native" EVE client, as it crash in the loginscreen.
Wine do work, but not platinum. And even if I don't use platinum, it will eventually freeze my system.
Hello my friends.
Is there anybody out there, who succesfully run EVE on an Ati machine with fglrx through wine? I can only get wine + fglrx work with basic grafic content. Anybody got it working...
I want to know this too. Got the same problem on a ATI mobility Radeon 3650, with latest ati driver (8.10) in Hardy.
Funny. That was acutally my own thoughts, before I read your post. It makes totally sence, Mark not yet revealing Ubuntu, before it is totally ready.
If Ubuntu got a new pretty default theme, its...
Hey... Got that laptop too, and I got it all working. Just ask me.
The hdmi problem is easy solved. Just change the default sound device in gnome, under administrator -> sound to ati hdmi.
Then...
Uhmm you got both an intel and a nvidia gfx card?
Try write this in the terminal:
lspci
Please paste the output here.
Take the 4965AGN! Trust me. I am danish, and have had a zepto recently. I took the Zpro and you have to fetch a unstable driver from madwifi.org. Thats not worth it, because they are not updating...
Yep.. But the funny thing is, that after an reformat of my ubuntu, I run with newest catalyst witout a problem.
I have read alot of threads, plz trying getting audio over hdmi to work. Actually its not that hard, so I wrote a little guide, which worked perfectly for me.
It might work out of the box (can't...

I got an Asus M50SA laptop, and I got a "working" headphone switch with the targa-dig model.

It would be nice though, if it came out for linux. I am seeing a growing linux gaming developing since the last couple of years.
