    [ubuntu] Re: Usplash problem

Certain usplashes work on some boot resolutions only. I got this to work by changing the boot resolution to 1024x768 using the startup manager.

  4. Middle click mouse icon is grey and ugly

Not sure if this is the right thread, but my middle click pointer is grey and ugly when I use any non-default theme for firefox. How can I fix it?
  5. [ubuntu] Re: Usplash switches to text mode during boot after installing another OS

I don't have a swap entry at all in my fstab.

    EDIT: Found it

EDIT 2: This is the content of my resume file. What should I edit?
  6. [ubuntu] Re: Firefox help - Opened firefox using sudo

True. Also, I had to change the StartWithLastProfile variable in profiles.ini file to 0 so that it will not open with the root profile.
  7. [ubuntu] Re: Firefox help - Opened firefox using sudo

Fixed it myself. What happened is, when I viewed firefox as root, it changed the owner of the profile.js file to root and user permissions to none. I changed the permissions back and everything is...
  8. [ubuntu] Re: Firefox help - Opened firefox using sudo

    Nope, didn't work:(

This did not work either. How can I completely reinstall firefox? I've already saved the passwords and bookmarks, so it won't be a problem.
  9. [ubuntu] Re: Firefox help - Opened firefox using sudo

No, I opened it as root only once. Now, everytime I run firefox, it is resetting the config.
  10. [ubuntu] Firefox help - Opened firefox using sudo

Hello, I ran firefox using sudo just to check how it looks like and my profile is messed up now. It resets the firefox config everytime I close firefox.

Yes, that is what I meant. Is it possible using the command line? Are you planning to add the feature in future versions?

[ubuntu] netx needs location for caching files

I'm getting this message quite often. Is this a security risk? I don't remember installing any software like that. I'm adding a screenshot below.

    [ubuntu] Re: compiz help

I got xcompmgr work with it though. You won't get the 3d effects, but AWN or Cairo-dock and transparency will work.
