Just noticed this at http://www.gnu.org/software/ddrescue/manual/ddrescue_manual.html
It says:
If that is true, does that mean I shouldn't be running it on my disk?
Here's mine:
1) Ubuntu 15.04
2) HP
3) HP pavilion 11-n024tu
4) Had to format the entire disk. However the showstopper is that it doesn't power off or reboot. Both get stuck and I have to...

Anyway moving...

I don't understand. The whole reason this thread was started was because we're unable to login to my normal user. How then can I "Then login under your profile." If I could do that I wouldn't be...
And did you? Were you able to recover anything? I can't login too..
Why did it appear in the Ubuntu Update Centre (or whatever it's called)?? I thought that was only for Stable releases. Like Windows Update. I assumed it was safe and went ahead updated. And now I...
It's a beta upgrade? But i got the alert via Update Manager asking me to update to 11.1 :(
I upgraded to 11.1 and I got a screen asking me to login. I've not got this before, but anyway I entered by root password but it doesn't seem to recognize it. I cannot access any files! Anybody...
