From this thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2085657) I found out that the file I'm searching for is in a different place. Which is here /etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf.
I can...
Hold down WIN and ALT, then right-click on... umm... panel and press add to panel. Add a new applet.
I decided to go with a file, but it's not changing.
Here's my default.conf.

I suppose I could. I should have made it clear. I don't want to use a wallpaper file unless it's absolutely necessary.
Sorry about that.
Similar to this thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1871801) is there a variable to change to a solid colour as opposed to changing to another wallpaper.

My preferred graphics viewer is gqview and editor GIMP.
Just use the software centre! It's in Menu/Apps/Software Centre or UnityThing/Search/Software Centre.
The default web browser for Ubuntu is Firefox. I thought since it's default you would be using that.
My current OS is lubuntu and it comes with Chrome. I perfer Firefox so...

I find it easier just ignore right clicking and open with and just go with opening...
The same addon is available for fx. Mozilla designed fx to make it simple to get addons. Doodle over to Tools/Add-ons, first. In the "get addons" page search for "ABP" or "adblock".

Seems like it's removed from 12.10. So it's not a bug.
Don't know. I never had a need to print it as there wasn't anything interesting happening there.
If it's not there then maybe ubuntu is not what you are using.
The button to click is circled in the picture.
sudo apt-get update
That's for updating the list of program available. You don't have to read the man pages I've already told what you need to know. ;)
Before you ditch it try Gnome classic.
Log out and click on the little circle with the ubuntu unity logo on the top of your user name and select it. I'm not sure if you gnome-panel first.
I've found a viable wrokaround, but this still needs to be fixed.
It goes like this. Right click rubbish on the left of pcmanfm and click "empty rubbish bin".

It didn't work.
Today I deleted stuff and I checked the files in trash and clicked on an item there because they weren't deleting off from the trash. The output I received was file not found.

Although I'm still using Ubuntu 12.04 with gnome classic, eventually it will be replaced with L Ubuntu, i.e lubuntu.
Ubuntu 12.04 is still using Gnome, just Gnome 3 now.
I didn't say it will work, but it might be possible. With new versions brings new settings so profiles made in earlier versions might not be compatible with newer versions.
You also need your old...
If it's possible I think you could attach your old profile to profiles.ini in ~/.mozilla/firefox/profiles.ini. This keeps all the bookmarks, extensions, and settings.

You can try it out using the liveCD. I recommend you try lubuntu too. It's lighter.

Found it. Here
~/.config/openbox/lubuntu-rc.xml
with this.
I'm always touching the scroll by accident and causing the desktop to switch radically. Unfortunately I don't know where to look to find the configurations for that.
