Probably a difference in Version, the midori version in the Arch repos looks to be more recent than the midori version in the ubuntu repos.

I used it as my only browser for about a month and I never had a problem with it. Then again, our systems are probably vastly different so that could contribute to it.

If you were me, you'd do it. I have all my Computers networked together Windows, Linux, XP, etc. If my Linux box becomes a "carrier" of a virus, it can infect my other computers through the network.

I'm fairly sure that it's illegal to circumvent security measures put in place by an organization, regardless of your age.

If you aren't installing it on Apple Hardware, I'm fairly certain that you would be in breach of the Apple License. That could be why it's not installing it, because it knows it shouldn't be there....

Well, it makes sense to break away from proprietary software/drivers/etc. If/When Linux rids itself of all proprietary software, we have truly become self-sustaining.

yeah, if you're going through the trouble of compiling many of your packages/applications/etc, there are quite a few distributions out there which are made for that. Slackware, Gentoo, Lunar, Arch...
