Try super grub. Download the .iso file and rip a bootable disc. Then reboot and it will guide you through the fix. It's a good thing to have around anyway.

When I've had this issue in the past I have run the Super Grub cd (bootable disk) to fix the MBR. Not sure about the swap issue, but this is a great thing to have around anyway. Saved me a few...
