    Mines working OK and had never disappeared, it was the chap above who had this problem.

    It was my WPA/WEP keys that disappeared after the update.

    Yes but I had to add a line to the smb.conf file



    goes in the [global] section of that file

    This works from another PC on the same network, curiously without a password prompt although the usernames are different.

    Is this because I set Guest Access user to "nobody" ?

    When I try to connect to the PDF printer on the ubuntu box from Windows it says "Access denied unable to connect" but I can open the Printers system folder.

    Seems odd to me.

    I put myself in Users and I was already in Sambashare.

    Now I can create shares.

    Problem now is nobody can access them from Windows machines.

    The network settings reset whenever you change WPA/WEP (dont forget I am new to this) I did it through the gui.

    Yes I have had this, reported in another thread. Needed to re-do the WPA/WEP password/key and reconfigure the network settings, works fine for me but others are still not even getting a wireless...

    I got the wireless working by reseting the WPA password/key, but I dont think that is the problem for Sam324.
