  3. [kubuntu] Re: K3b refuses to burn. Gives error: Cdrecord has no permission to open device

    OK, I've solved this.
The first clue is this line in the error log:

/usr/bin/wodim: Operation not permitted. Warning: Cannot raise RLIMIT_MEMLOCK limits.

This means that it is trying to lock...

How to run Gnome Games over LAN?

OK, my son and I wanted to play a few quick games of Iagno or Four-in-a-row over our home LAN. Simple, right? It has a "Network Game" option, right?

[kubuntu] Re: boot (X) problem on mac g3

Try one of these at the yaboot prompt:

    linux 1
    linux single

That will put you into single-user mode, which is a terminal screen with a root prompt.

[kubuntu] Re: boot (X) problem on mac g3

I don't know why that key combo doesn't work (ctrl-alt-F2,3,4 or up to 6 should work as well...) but you should be able to open a terminal and edit your X config with 'sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf' ...

[ubuntu] Re: switching function of Ctrl and Command keys?

To make a short answer, no there is no easy way.

[all variants] Re: iMac G3- 3D and Reboot

AFAIK, the strange purply lines are leftover gunk in the framebuffer that who knows where it goes or why it shows up... quite harmless, really.

  15. [xubuntu] Re: I just added an IDE HD w/Mac OS 9. How to configure yaboot?

Your yaboot configuration file is /etc/yaboot.conf.
To edit it in Xubuntu type

    gksudo mousepad /etc/yaboot/conf

and put a line in there that says:

    macos=/dev/hda2

[ubuntu] Re: G3 PowerMac wont boot
