Sudo gedit. Or your favorite editor
normal ethernet cables will not connect 2 cpu's to eachother, so im assuming the ps3 is same, you'll most likely need a patch cable.
I know my win7 box will stream it, you can try VLC(I like it better than mediaplayer any how).
Try mediatomb forums, jen has been really grate as of late
Have you tryed the mediatomb forums?
and heres my Squid.conf

heres my working conf.
it wouldent let me attach the file, so here it is
# DansGuardian config file for version 2.10.1.1
# **NOTE** as of version 2.7.5 most of the list files are now in...
Here's the how-to I've used http://wiki.flexion.org/InstallingMediaTomb012.html There are a few things missing from it if you have a new install. Like build-essential,
start mediatomb with
mediatomb -d
that starts it as a daemon
mediatomb -d
starts it as a daemon
the first post after that had your fix
Sudo Smbpasswd –a username
OSXniCKels that fix should have worked, but... I’d suggest that you make sure that the cfg you think you are using is the one that being used, I had a problem a while back and it turned out that it...
i ran across this looking for your fix http://forum.boxee.tv/archive/index.php/t-8035.html
it looks like you ned to make sure all the repositories are enabled and then
use the -f switch.
sounds like a repo prob, but... jen would be the best to fix that,
with that heres the link to mediatomb's forums, hes been really great about helping ppl lately....
my first thought is permissions, just do a check, ive been muxing them to .m2ts with tsmuxer and when thats done its permissions are root.
Insted of dooing that, can you mount that drive at boot?
I myself love mediatomb, its extreamy flexable. with that heres one of the best howtos http://wiki.flexion.org/InstallingMediaTomb012.html,
that has the ffmpeg/transcodeing in it, if you have...
1. what does typing mediatomb into terminal do and do you only need to do it the original time or every time you want to use it?....well typing mediatomb is kind of like .exe a program. with that...
start it with
mediatomb -d
to listen to the .mp3's are you on the music tab of the Playstation?
I believe it's a Ffmpeg library
FakeOutdoorsman did a Great howto:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=786095&highlight=ffmpeg
try this, its from http://mediatomb.cc/dokuwiki/faq:faq
it starts it later
sudo update-rc.d -f mediatomb remove
sudo update-rc.d mediatomb defaults 99
I dont think that's lazy, thats useing your brain...
otherwise takeing my car to work is me beeing lazy.
P.S. I like the PHP idea.(I'm justa starting with it)
1. To get the Raid going its mdadm - https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/RAID1%2BLVM this guide looked good, but im not so sure about the fstab part(...
