Re: Unable to locate package desurium

Ah, well that sucks. Thanks for the info.

Can I just replace "raring" with "quantal" in sources.list?

    Unable to locate package desurium

Nevermind; I'm an idiot. I re-checked my /etc/apt/sources.list, and saw that the "n" was missing off of "main" in one of the sources. #-o

    Re: Trine

You should probably upgrade to 12.04. Is there any particular reason you're still running 10.04?

If it's the original Trine, you'll have to use wine. If it's Trine2, and you have a CD key, after...
  8. Re: 12.04 - Steam not appearing in Software Center

Yeah they took it out a few days ago, probably because it wasn't quite working as well as they thought it would. It works fine though if you download from steampowered.com.

Re: Is BURG bootloader any good?

I used it several years ago. Was cool, but didn't really need it, so got rid of it.

Re: Problem loading Team Fortress 2

This is a problem with your graphics card. I assume you're using an AMD card, because most people getting this error are (including me). You will have to update to the newest fglrx by downloading...

    I bought 19 games for $74. Can't beat that with a stick!!

Re: Problem loading Team Fortress 2

I assume you mean Ubuntu 12.04, since we're not yet in the year 2020.

Have you tried: sudo apt-get install -f ??
  13. Re: The gaming market ... So many choices

I too made the decision last year never to buy another game unless it was a Linux version. I will not support companies that don't make games for the OS I use (because, of course, I wouldn't be able...

Run Steam from a terminal, launch FTL, then post the output here so we can see exactly what the error is.

Re: New to linux, getting games running?

    1) Upgrade to Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. As a previous poster said, 11.10 reaches end-of-life in April 2013, but 12.04 is supported until 2017.

    2) Get a Desura account and a Steam account, then install...
  19. Re: Error ! Required OpenGL extension "GL_EXT_texture_sRGB_decode" is not supported

You and I have the same graphics card.

This is because it uses the ATI Legacy Driver, which does not support many Valve Source games (GoldSrc yes, Source no).

So if you want to play TF2,...

    Re: Desura Game Distribution Platform

Red Eclipse is one of the best FPS games I've played and it's free. No frills or crazy extra stuff, just good old fashioned shooting people, like Mom used to do.

    I bought "Non-Flying Soldiers"...
