    Had that issue after update yesterday. Have had 12.10 running without problems for several weeks.
    Obviously, some new updates have come along since yesterday evening, for after a new update...

    For me, Ant uses the JRE that is checked in Windows/Preferences, Java - Installed JREs.

    But I had to add Sun 1.5.0 manually, using the path /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun/jre

    You can just hide the menu options you don't want to see: Right-click on the top menus to edit them, and uncheck your most unwanted items in the Game menu.

    Try from terminal

    Hi Milad,

    try starting Enemy Territory from within a terminal window (Applications - Accessories - Terminal). Just type
    et and press enter.

    Hopefully you'll get some informative error...

    You would use the Java Plugin Control Panel (System/Settings/Java Plugin Control Panel), the "Advanced" tab, Java Run Time parameters.

    And it's -Xmx256M for 256 Mb maximum heap size, not 256x.
