3. go to the capture switches and press spacebar on the switches which have the text "L-R-Capture" to disable them

No dice. You'll have to reactivate it everytime you switch back and forth. I'm actually about to work on a solution to this problem and I'll probably figure out if it's plausible by this weekend.

From my experience, Error 15 comes from a badly configured menu.lst. Here are couple questions so I can help you and make the tutorial better...
