Though I can't exactly remember, I think I did something to hide my bluetooth icon when bluetooth is disabled. It now only shows in my top bar when it is enabled. What do I do to get it back...
Acoording to this source (seems reliable) everything will be wyped.
Just checked with my phone. In 13.04 it just works again. Plug in and no problem.
I don't know what android version that is running, but there is a problem with newer android versions being recognised as a disk - it used to 'just work', and it should. I forgot some of the half...
I have had plenty of successful upgrades. 12.10 gave me plenty of errors and was not a good release for me. I upgraded successfully. No grand new features but overall a better release.
I am not...
I like back in time. It makes incremental backups, so after the first time it is quite fast and it remains easy to browse through the past as it shows you all of your files as they were at a given...
The htdocs question I answered in your other thread. People start wars over text editors so just go with your own experience. Vim is hard to learn and has many fans. I worked with gedit a long time...
You can read the first post from link below. It explains how to install and then create a symbolic link to a place you do have access. /opt is only accessible with superuser permissions....
In addition you might want to make a symbolic link from your htdocs to a folder in your /home that you can easily edit. Search this forum there is a clear explanation somewhere on xampp
I use xampp too. It's easy to backup and migrate through systems and installs and easy to configure with all stuff in one place.
Just: sudo /opt/lampp/lamp start and it will work.
No need for a new thread.
How did you install it the first time? Do that again and now make sure to install it on the right disk.
Don't say you installed it from the same usb that you...
You say you are a beginner in Linux. Beginner or advanced, why install anything from source. There is little to benefit from when you do. And there are plenty of problems you can get when you keep...
I would stay clear of cinelerra, it is not very intuitive. I've had mixed results with all others but they all grew up quite a bit last years. Openshot, pitivi, kd kdenlive just install and try them....
If you go crazy? What would that be? I have my /home on its own partition. The rest off my install is about 10Gb. I definitely didn't go crazy but an install could also be half of that. I don't know...
There is a recent problem with newer android versions no longer automatically mounting properly. Have searched so far and wide as to install this ppa?...
I find most wysiwyg editors get in the way when you use a cms (and you should). I use sublime text 2. Before that I used gedit with some plugins for code snippets. Both are excellent editors. Some...
Since I upgraded tot 12.10 youtube movies are no longer shown in Chrome browser. Sometimes they seem to be there for a moment, but then they disappear. A gap in the site remains. Flash and the...
Thanks! Just couldn't find it and it is much better!
When I resize a window an orange overlay shows me the new size of the window until I release the mouse. Can windows be resized 'live' / on the fly?
I'm not sure where else to ask this, but css snippets don't work for me in Gedit (html for example does). I enter the keyword such as 'font' or 'background', press tab and .... nothing. Anybody got a...
I got quite amazing results from both fan control and adding i915.i915_enable_rc6=1. My battery life went from about 4,5 hours to 5,5-6 hours on a W520.
Hi, thanks, I just followed your procedure. This line:
sensor /sys/devices/platform/coretemp.2/temp1_input
appears not to exist:
@W520:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/thinkfan start...
Issues is not the word, it is quite quiet. I don't know if it is on all the time or not. It might be. My laptop as a whole feels cool on the outside at least. I recently heard of the thinkfan package...
I have the w520. You don't need to worry. The wifi will just work and the graphics too. Optimus won't work but you can disable it in the bios and opt for discrete or integrated. I'm doing the latter...
