  1. Re: Will 19.04 officially support Raspberry Pi 3B+

http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-server/daily-preinstalled/current/ but please be aware of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/bionic/+source/raspi3-firmware/+bug/1805668 (don't be fooled by the 'fix...
  2. Re: Will 19.04 officially support Raspberry Pi 3B+

@mjohnc I would encourage you to have another look at the instructions. Have a go at following them, and if you get stuck then have a search on t'internet. This is the way to learn stuff. If you...
  3. Re: Will 19.04 officially support Raspberry Pi 3B+

To answer the opening post, yes I believe there are (armhf and arm64) pi3 images planned for 19.04. I am not part of the development team, but there is an effort at the moment to make 18.04.2 images...

    Re: Raspberry pi imaging

The raspberry pi 3 can do 3D. The problem is you need a new version of mesa to make it useable as a gl compositor. Unless you run 17.10, the required version is currently not in the ubuntu archive....
  6. Re: Get Lubuntu 14.04 working with Radeon UMS. Rsavages thread and links no work!

I believe ppcluddite hosts a copy of the file you want. For the others, I didn't remove them (except the Ubuntu mate 14.04 ISO), onedrive just silently cancelled the links.
  7. [ubuntu_mate] Re: Booting from USB on PowerMac G5 through OpenFirmware

Btw, did you try holding down the option key on start up with the USB drive? That should of worked on your machine.

Black screen - this is on an installed system? Sounds like an old lightdm...
  8. [ubuntu_mate] Re: Booting from USB on PowerMac G5 through OpenFirmware

Almost always I needed to use the OF command probe-usb before my USB devices were detected. That would be my guess based on your dev / ls. You have the devalias ud listed so you could try boot...

Re: I Can't Boot Into Lubuntu 12.04 LTS

<removed unnecessary verbiage>If you can't install 12.04 you probably won't be able to install 16.04. 14.04 is the way to go until you find your feet. Then you can upgrade or install 16.04 when you...

Re: I Can't Boot Into Lubuntu 12.04 LTS

I can definitely fix this for you (12.04 had a known bug), but I don't see the point of installing 12.04 (unsupported). The easiest thing to do is install 14.04 and hit the option key on start up. ...
  11. Re: Lubuntu install on a power book g4 network does not work

Sigh, nothing changes around here, does it? You have an airport classic card, forget any b43 nonsense. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PowerPCFAQ#Will_my_wireless_work.3F
  12. Re: 14.04 on 800Mhz G4 iMac Lamp - nouveau not working

So to sum up these latest ramblings....

The Powermac 867 and imac 800 have the same graphics card. The problem with the powermac sounds like that experienced with some PowerBooks (although if you...
  13. Re: 14.04 on 800Mhz G4 iMac Lamp - nouveau not working

Going way back in time now, but this is what fixed the emac (same card as imac 700/800) - https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29810 and here is a fixed bug for powerbooks -...
  14. Re: 14.04 on 800Mhz G4 iMac Lamp - nouveau not working

  15. Re: 14.04 on 800Mhz G4 iMac Lamp - nouveau not working

@ristosu are you still around? Your white screen sounds different from abtabt's black screen http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2294789&page=5&p=13415752#post13415752 .
  16. Re: 14.04 on 800Mhz G4 iMac Lamp - nouveau not working

I think that's being overly negative. There are only a few computers that don't work well with nouveau; off the top of my head the imac 700/800, powermac 867 and seemingly now the powerbook 867. ...
  17. Re: 14.04 on 800Mhz G4 iMac Lamp - nouveau not working

These are some notes I made about hacking around with DKMS for the sound module - http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2209340&page=9&p=13234021#post13234021
  18. Re: 14.04 on 800Mhz G4 iMac Lamp - nouveau not working

Different imac (G4/1.0 15" FP (USB 2.0) NVIDIA GeForce4 MX), but the attached patch in this bug report may help somebody who wants to take this on.......

I think you have misunderstood abtabt's instructions. You should definitely be able to get something working with a legacy framebuffer (I think rivafb for you but don't hold me to that). But like I...

    That's disappointing.

Couple of things.... have you tried increasing the screen brightness? Not sure if you have to have the function key pressed for that to work. I guess you've tried...

Yeah, but your computer thinks you do. A phantom output. It's in the FAQ, but the gentoo and arch nouveau pages have stuff on it too.
