You could also just install Chrome.
It comes with pepper so should work out of the box.

I've been running 14.04 the whole time as my daily driver.
Have had no major issues. Very few minor ones.
I haven't seen any good options.
Perhaps you could consider a chromebook + crouton to use Ubuntu.
Light, cheap, lots of software and still usable on the go
I think basing the images of off Android (CM) images served multiple purposes, including, but not limited to:
- Usage of available binary blobs needed to use the available hardware
- Usage of...
Nobody outside of canonical is running Ubuntu for Android.
It was supposed to be installed by OEMs, but focus seems to have shifted from Ubuntu for Android to Ubuntu Touch.
I wouldn't hold my...
upgrading from one 6 month release to the next also brings along some risk that your install will break.
Keep this in mind when picking a release.
Personally I run LTS for two reasons:

or in terminal:

It's not the same across the world... Creditcards are less common in many places then they are in the US.
I like your ideas :)
Funny how
turned out to be somewhat wrong.
Mark Shuttleworth mentioned wanting high quility speakers in a question regarding "audiophile quality" in the redit AMA.
Not really.
The focus seems to be on Ubuntu Touch. Ubuntu for Android and Ubuntu TV seem to be on the backburner.
Canonical is only porting Ubuntu Touch to the Google Nexus devices. Other ports are provided by the community.
Therefor there will not be a Touch port at the launch of the One Mini. The community...
Ubuntu Touch is currently close to the state you are describing on the Nexus 4.
Calling, messaging etc. works.
That said, the OS is far from finished in it's current state and the amount of apps...
Have a look at http://www.genymotion.com/
That dropbox album appears empty.
Anyway when one of my flashes failed I sideloaded android to fix my device.
Don't remember the exact steps, I just googled sideloading.

make sure you select Linux on the download page.
openjdk is indeed slower then the oracle jdk. But you can just install that instead.
Eclipse is available, but a bit heavy.
What kind of apps are you building?
Your machine is listed as a cortex A8, which should be supported by Ubuntu. You should be able to install the arm image natively.
I'm unsure if you need a specific image or if a generic arm image...
+1
To expand, you're suppost to log in with credentials that are valid on the machine you are ssh'ing TO (not credentials for the pc you are ssh'ing FROM).
Example with two PCs:
PC1:
ip:...
You might have to specify a user. You're currently trying to log in with your current user's credentials, however they might not exist on the other pc.
To do this use
ssh username@pc2
You won't get any security updates or be able to install software.
Even your compilers will be out of date.
I'd upgrade to 12.04.

for info on your hardware open a terminal and run sudo lshw
Ok I assume you've run sudo apt-get update before trying to install libx11-dev?
You would need a specific package for ARM.

Not likely,
I doubt the iOS kernel and GPU blobs etc. would work
Well so far the aim seems to be to use as little hardware buttons as possible.
So I think you'll have to go through software at first (swipe down the volume icon and you get a mute button).
