    Please install rfkill application then run:

    rfkill list all
    and post the result of the command here.
    Go into your router and change the channel to 1 and encryption set it to just wpa (AES)...

    Have you changed to the new driver yet? post back if you have problems with the install. It is possible that it will not compile on that kernel but it should.

    The settings should be okay for now, but the best channels are 1,6 and 11 usually.
    Your signal strength is only 4, how far are you from the router, any walls,ceilings or anything in the way?
