I found 11.10 better with gnome shell. there's lots of extensions to customise it. mine is very similar to the old gnome 2.

ah, right. not sure, it was October/November time when I did it. I think banshee was removed through the software centre or synaptic, and unity from instructions on here or somewhere else on the web....

I think it depends which windows theme you use.
I use GTK+ theme = Ambiance. Window theme = BrushedGnome. and I set the "metacity_theme_active_opacity" to 0.5

Well, I was going to upgrade, but after reading some more, I think i'll stick with gnome 2 & 11.04. I think it's supported for another year yet. See what's out then.

I don't use screensavers apart from a blank screen, but if I had a clock one then that would be useful. So after a lot of searching I found a round screensaver clock, but it's for xscreensaver. so...

go to home folder, under view "show hidden files"
go to ".config" folder then open the audacious folder, rename "config" file in the audacious folder to...
