I have a Nvidia geforce 610m(optimus)on my laptop and I have upgraded to kernel 3.5. How do I make sure that my graphics card is detected and is being used by the OS?
So what you r saying is.. I can only access photos and music...what about sms backups and stuff?
How do I permanently hide the launcher menu?
A last resort can be Upgrade to kernel 3.5.
Do this with utmost caution and only if you have a optimus laptop.
Even I had to change the Phone from MTP to PTP... but the problem here i can only browse music and photo folders... what abt other folders?
Which environment and what plugins?
I would love to design my desktop like that..
Please tell me.
ok bumblebee does support 630m... but u need to run the command everytime an app shld utilize the graphics card.
So your desktop environment cant utilize the graphics card.
So currently u have kernel 3.2? and on this kernel is your ethernet and Wlan currently working?
If yes.. then for Optimus try installing bumblebee.. but I am not sure if it supports 630m..
I installed kernel 3.5 and the display drivers are working properly.. thanks!
This is a very good book!! thanks..
If you can.. install the kernel 3.5 and above.
This will definitely help resolve the optimus issue.
I have a Asus-K53SD Laptop.
I am trying to do the same - replace Win7 with Ubuntu.
but unfortunately I require Win7 occasionally for some of my softwares and GAMES :P .
For all else its Ubuntu all...
It takes a bit getting used to without the start menu...but once u kno it the Dash icon becomes more useful than the start menu :)
Version - Ubuntu 12.04
Maker - Asus
Model - K53SD-SX128D
Installs smoothly.Need to upgrade kernel to 3.5 to get nvidia to work.
Need to install scripts to make hibernation work properly.
All...
Thanks I have a Asus K53SD laptop with Nvidia 610m and was searching for drivers for my 610m. I will surely try bumblebee.
Can u tell me the effects of upgrading my kernel to 3.5?
I do agree with this... this sure is the quickest way!!!!:P
