Best of luck, please keep us posted...
Glad to see that you got it sorted.
Thanks for the reply. I have everything all good now.
Finding the packages in synaptic and mark + install worked for me - happily on wireless now thanks everyone! :KS:popcorn:
Suppose what we find in synaptic package manager are not marked green; wouldn't work to simply mark and install them?
I am having wireless issues as well. The rkill list shows no blocks; here is output of lspci -vvnn:

Since I installed a new 11.04 alongside the original downloaded, I would like to go in a new direction. After I recover what I want from the 10.10 (defunct 11.04 now) I'd like to clean install from...

I'm pretty sure the issue here was not about the use of display brightness buttons... best of luck!
Are you sure it's the same issue?
The flicker seems solved, saw a Launchpad e-mail that says a fix was released.
I had the flicker end with the installation of 10.10 as well. As to GNOME, there was a GUI crash after trying some new themes, launchpad post here Other than that, it's all joy with 10.10
There's some more info to consider. Hybrids and electrics have a serious battery recycling/replacement issue. Consider that the energy used to produce and install new batteries and recycle the used...
Wow... a high intensity heater that can use the internet and do other other comuter fun!
It won't work, far too many records to try to track...
I hear good about it for laptops...
Truly very good! Please join the Ubuntu IRC chat (search here) or try this site for links - I hope you will!
Whatever is happening will take a while, not to worry...
Wow, that's very interesting and impressive!:KS
The hardware and the OS are very good. They're a bit expensive... there...
