  1. [ubuntu] Re: Pangolin panp4 beeping and shuting down on boot.

    Hi guys,

I solved the problem just a few hours after I posted the problem. I suspected of a temperature-related issue, because the error appeared sooner if I had already tried to use the laptop. I...
  2. [ubuntu] Pangolin panp4 beeping and shuting down on boot.

    Hi guys,

I just was using my Pangolin panp4 for web browsing, and after around 5 minutes it just shutted down. Then, I turned it on again but now it stars beeping and flashing the Num Lock and...

[ubuntu] Re: Panp5 - Webcam quit working

    Hi people,

I think that the problem that this user has experienced with his webcam is the same that other Pangolin users have had (including myself). It is just a hardware failure, the camera is...
  4. [ubuntu] Re: gnome-power-manager doesn't recognize "on battery"

    Hi people,

Could someone tell us how to fix this battery power issue? I do not know how to fix the kernel and load "CONFIG_ACPI_AC=m", and I am sure that more people around does not either. A...
  5. [ubuntu] Re: gnome-power-manager doesn't recognize "on battery"

    Hi,

I am also interested on a solution for this problem. If building a custom kernel is a solution, can people of system76 try this on their shop machines, which also have this problem, and post a...
  6. [ubuntu] Re: gnome-power-manager doesn't recognize "on battery"

I checked 8.10 64 using a live CD and the power-manager-applet seemed to work fine, obviously it could not estimate the discharge time because it was the first time discharging, but it did recognize...
  7. [ubuntu] Re: gnome-power-manager doesn't recognize "on battery"

Thank you for confirming it. Have you s76 guys filled any bug report about this? Do you have any idea when we can expect a fix? Or is it possible to temporally go back to an older version of...
  8. [ubuntu] Re: gnome-power-manager doesn't recognize "on battery"

    Hi,

I did a clean install of 9.04 amd64 a couple of weeks ago and I have exactly the same issue with the power-manager in a panp4n. I did 2 tests, I booted using a LiveCD to 9.04 and the problem...
  9. [ubuntu] Re: Pangolin Battery Power Mangement Tab Missing

Hi, I think there is something wrong in your install. I have a Pangolin panp4n and it has the "On Battery Power" tab.
  10. [ubuntu] Re: Same story, different user (webcam arrrgh!)

    Hi flukeairwalker,

Can you still see the camera turning on and off when hitting Fn+F10? (running the command lsusb). We don't know if upgrading to Jaunty will fix the camera, but it's worth trying...
  11. [ubuntu] Re: Same story, different user (webcam arrrgh!)

    Hi Thomasaaron,

I agree with you and I had thought about the Jaunty option a while ago. I hope it works. If I just try Jaunty booting in LiveCD, should the camera be recognized without instaling?(...
  12. [ubuntu] Re: Same story, different user (webcam arrrgh!)

    Hi,

It did not fix it in my panp4n.
Should I just delete the file or only the line in /etc/modprove.d/uvc ?
  13. [ubuntu] Re: Ubuntu 8.10 Pangolin Performance no wireless

    Hi,
In the pangolin panp4n, you enable/disable the wireless by hitting Fn+F11 (The 3rd LED from left to right turns on/off in green). If you have Bluetooth, then Fn+F12 makes it, and it is indicated...
  14. [ubuntu] Re: Same story, different user (webcam arrrgh!)

    Hi,
I am suspecting that this is a problem with the Pangolin. It seems to be the same problem that I had and DESCRIBED HERE (and still have not solved because I think I'll have to send my panp4n to...

[ubuntu] Re: webcam no longer working

    Hi Brian,
I also have a panp4n and my webcam is not working. I would like to know if it is working under Ekiga: When I try to adjust webcam brightness/contrast, Ekiga's window turns completely to...

    [ubuntu] Re: Boot up error(s)

It seems that something inside got loose, probably a RAM module or the Graphic Card. Wait for more input anyway, but I think you'll have to open it and check that everything is set in place and tight.

[ubuntu] Re: Review of Pangolin Performance

I think you just have to set up Skype audio options correctly (the "pulse" option for sound out and ringing). It works for my on the Pangolin.
If you kill pulse audio and run skype, do you have...

[ubuntu] Re: Review of Pangolin Performance

It is good to know that another Pangolin user is happy.
I also have a Pangolin but I have no issues with Skype. How do you get the conflict between Skype and Pulseaudio? What is the problem you...

[all variants] Re: Gazelle vs Pangolin

I am a Pangolin owner/user and I think it is a great laptop, I would put most of its features in the pros side (e.g. a comfortable keyboard, touchpad and nice display) but, in the cons I have to say...

When you solve this issue, is it possible that you post into this thread how you did it? I think the posibility of searching for other user's previous threads is one of the...

[ubuntu] Re: Issues with the CD/DVD Unit - Daru3

Can you play any other type of CD, for example, music CDs?
  22. [ubuntu] Re: I dont even know what to title this...

It is a problem of skype itself, you have to choose the right output in options>sound in skype. If you are running Ubuntu 8.10, then "pulse" for "sound out" and "ringing" should make it. For input,...

[ubuntu] Re: How should I partition my HD?

Congratulations for the nice machine! I have a Pangolin too, and I really like it.
I agree with yey365 on the swap partition size, it is recommended to have at least the amount of your RAM memory...

    You are welcome.
I have read some comments (I think from Thomasaaron) about a bug that creates those epic log files.

[ubuntu] Re: /tmp partition only 1M?

From what I see, you don't have space in the partition /dev/sda1 where root "/" is mounted. I think that's why you see an "overflow" being mounted in /tmp. Have you installed too many/big packages...
