OK. Bug report here

I'm seeing a lot of problems with this. Systems I updated last night were spamming /var/log/auth.log with errors - unable to open pam_env.so until I restarted Cron. Now the packages are missing...
I had this. If I remember correctly, I fixed it by going to Firefox Preferences, Advanced, General and unticking "Always use the cursor keys to navigate within pages". I'm sure I found this...
Made me smile.

I don't think there is. Do you have Desktop Ubuntu installed? If so you could install virtualbox and then install the server version in a virtual machine. There are lots of howto's about for VB.

Don't worry about the naysayers. Follow your star. Have fun.

Nice one. Works for me.

I use kvm in my home network so no requirement for 24/7 99.99% reliability. I use VMs to provide some separation of services and for the learning experience. None are heavily loaded. I use:
AMD...
Are you doing this from inside your network - that is behind the router? If so, your external IP address won't work. You will need to use the local IP address which is usually in the rand...
If you want to customise your installation, perhaps you need to learn to use the command line. All options are still available there.

I've always installed SqueezeServer using these instructions so hopefully they will work for you too.

I agree. I think you are looking at this backwards. You can ssh from Computer B back to your home base (Computer A), set up a ssh reverse tunnel and trigger whatever you want Computer A to do with...
Yeah I already tried that but still got the same error. Thanks for the reply though.

Edit: Actually, your post made me think again and I think I've got it now. I'm using:
export...
I know this is an old thread but I am currently researching the same problem. Has anyone found a solution?
Keith
I don't know about hotkeys but there are sound options under Edit -> Preferences.

There are probably a couple of things that you can do depending on your hardware, how much disk space you have and so on:
1. You could "dual boot" - put Ubuntu and XP on the same harddrive and...
See this link. It describes what is most likely to be the issue you are having.

I'd also like to know how to get auto-away to work.

If you ran "sudo aptitude safe-upgrade", you won't have got all the kernel updates. You need to run "sudo aptitude full-upgrade". See man aptitude.

How about making this a poll?
Keith
I'm not so sure. I'm sure that you could learn a lot. But I stopped when I found myself just blindly following a set of instructions and actually learning very little from it all.

You need to install a Thunderbird extension called Provider for Google Calendar. In Thunderbird, click on Tools > Add Ones > Extensions > Get Extensions.

ssh and screen? Not GUI but probably more powerful. Don't know though because I don't use remote desktop.
