If you read his opinions, they're not that much off though. A bit heavily worded, but the core is mostly a bit true
Sure that is a big win, but it's not like you can't use the mouse :)
Ion isn't only tiled though. It has a fully functional (but a bit different from your typical gnome/kde/windows) floating mode.
Also, the mouse can be put to good use too.

Me me! :) Yes, ion is the best WM I've used so far. Too bad the development have slowed down. But then it is fairly mature.
#ion @ freenode btw
Post your /var/log/Xorg.0.log
Maybe?
Maybe this will help?
I don't think ion supports the fdo (or whatever) startup standard. The typical way is to put them in your ~/.xinitrc
knetworkmanager &
# other startup programs. (dont forget to start them in...
As I no longer use Ubuntu and not even KDE/Gnome I would not donate to Canonical. I do donate regulary to other projects though. I've made a thread with donation links.
I whish I could make a directed donation to a project trying to make a usable document reader :-/ They all suck. (on windows too, unless something have changed the past 2 years)

One thing that potentially could be useful is chained geastures. (like chained keybindings in eg. emacs) That would increase the number of reliable gestures.
Should be mostly gruntwork to...
Did you read the thread title?
Truth is that you can do mostly everything in windows too.
The only two areas I know of that works better in linux* are custom window managers, and folder mounts....
Yes, a good categorization is absolutly not easy to define.
The tags could help(*), but they're not used enough and consistently, and it's not possible to save a tag search. The prefix helps...
Sorry for bumping this thread :)
The problem with the "Main Support Categories" is that they're overflowed with support questions (obviously). What I'm after is discussion about software, not help...
Not sure where to post this really. I think this forum is missing a "Software/utility discussion" section.
I just found out about xsetpointer today (after hacking together a c program that did...
Sweet, there's a video on their blog: http://openpandora.org/blog.php
I think devilspie can do this. (Or use a better wm, like ion3 :) )
http://trolltech.com/developer/qt-creator/qt-creator maybe? It's in beta, but might be worth checking out
