Re: KDE4 - looking good for open source

The beauty of KDE is the ability to customize everything. I use kde and I typically have a very clean, uncluttered setup. But I have also seen some pretty messy ones too. So if you have the time to...

Poll: Re: Give Gutsy a rating

I was pleasantly surprised by Gutsy, there are a lot of useful new features and it is very well put together as a whole.

I do still wish that Kubuntu would receive a bit more attention as it...

  5. Re: August 2007 Desktops (Safe for work ONLY) - Please include theme details.

I like that layout, being that it's a bit different from the normal kicker/taskbar setup. I use the Crystal Project icon set too, it's the best one out there right now (at least for KDE).

  8. Re: I just got a 100,000 Gigabyte Harddrive: How do I setup Email?

It's definitely useful to have the extra space when you like ripping all of your music in flac format. Once I stop being so lazy I also want to rip my dvds using x264.

I'm in agreement with most of the other posts in here, I switched to Opera recently and am loving the speed and simplicity. The only thing I really miss is the extensive amount of extensions and...
  12. Poll: Re: Do you have to be a programmer to use Ubuntu?

I think a lot of people think that programmers are the most knowledgeable about computers in general. I know people in CS whose knowledge of general computer stuff is lacking compared to my own. I am...

Re: HOWTO: Setup Ampache for Music Streaming

Pretty good guide. You might consider throwing something in there about changing permissions on the files in the ampache folder to be more secure (although I don't exactly know how to do this, I'm...

    Re: ExtremeTech Review slams Feisty!

His complaint about flash not being installed by default is rather stupid. Windows doesn't have it installed by default either. It's more a licensing issue than anything (I think so at least).

Re: If you have Windows XP, why do you use linux?

Main Reason: It's just more fun to use Ubuntu (Kubuntu in my case). I really love Beryl and Amarok is definitely my favorite music player.

I really only still use windows because I'm a big gamer...
