    Re: Countdown to 8.10!

8.04 has just came out. Be patient and wait for 8.10. There's no point in getting excited now.
  2. Re: Can I burn Open Office to a CD and sell the CD

It's perfectly fine and legal to sell free software. Richard Stallman says it is anyway.
  3. Re: Channel 4's absymal Linux support (for people in the UK)....

Exactly. They'll regret it when Linux takes over the world and Microsoft fall (with a mighty crash preferably). :)

    Re: Matrix code...

    That's a very good idea thanks. :)
You mean just creating a new layer, sticking the code picture in that and then flattening the image?

    Re: how to say "ubuntu"

I think Ubuntu is a great name. It's not similar to anything else and it's alternative which make it all that more interesting.
  14. Re: will artificial intelligence ever become reality?

It will happen. It's only a matter of time before computers are intelligent as humans. There was a news story a few weeks ago about it becoming reality in a few decades. No idea where the link to it...

Re: new users are so smart

I'm a relatively new Linux user and I'm not afraid to say I know hardly anything about it. I know just enough to get buy and thankfully Ubuntu is easy enough to use to not know anything about Linux....

    Poll: Re: Gta Iv

    I really want GTA4 but don't have a Xbox360 or PS3. I'm just going to wait until I can afford a PS3 as that's the console I want next. :)

Re: new users are so smart

So you didn't get to know him just because you both disagreed about how to pronounce a word?
  18. Re: Why do people buy more expensive computer than what they need

I guess if you can afford a nice modern computer it would be hard to resist. Even if it would be overpowered for Linux.

My first was Ubuntu 7.10 someyime late last year. A late adopter. :)
  20. Re: Does Ubuntu ever feel "unpolished" to you?

Agreed. Considering Ubuntu is made by volunteers and is completely free they've done a pretty good job.
  21. Re: "Cube Desktop" - A compiz clone for Windows.

I loved reading the comments on that video. Everyone praising the free Linux alternatives. :)
  22. Re: "Cube Desktop" - A compiz clone for Windows.

Does it only work on Window$?
  23. Re: "Cube Desktop" - A compiz clone for Windows.

    I pity them too. :)
It's another addition to the ever expanding list of reasons to choose Linux over Window$.
  24. Poll: Re: Did having Firefox preinstalled matter to you?

It helped for me as I've always used Firefox and it's my favourite browser.
But if it wasn't installed by default I wouldn't be bothered as I'd just install it myself.
  25. Re: Do people really think Ubuntu = upstream

Same here. In case the OP hasn't noticed, try clicking the System button on the top taskbar...
