    I have installed ubuntu on my computer i used gparted to contracted my second (data) partition since i was not full and made an 200 GB extended partition at the end of the drive where i installed...

    OK i will back up most important files shrink D partition form the right so i will have extended partition at the end of the drive.
    Do i have to make extended partition with Gparted or will linux...

    computer is not very slow with xp just a little
    and with office work i meant word, excell etc. (linux version i use w7 so i dont know the name)
    im still wondering if it would run latest ubuntu

    my father has an 10 year old gericom laptop that he still uses he currently has windows xp on but it runs slowly so i am wondering if it would better run with ubuntu or any other version linux...
