alzaf, yes and yes.
It is excellent for plain text, pretty good for PDFs.
Just stay away from the DRMed stuff and all will be well.
(The Kindle GPLed source code is fun to look through by...
As above.
Debian Stable (Squeeze) is a rock. Debian Testing (Wheezy) is more stable than an Ubuntu LTS (ever since 8.04).
Or you can go for one of the Linux Mint versions based on Debian Testing. Or Saline...
What do you mean? As HTML? As PDFs?
I should think so as one can do so with the browser.
Storage however would be quite limited (unless you pay for more) but things can always be dumped to USB...
Oh, definitely. I don't mind too much on my smartphone though I try to seek out GPLed apps when I can.
But this is the kind of Linux we'll be seeing around us.
Yes, of course Unity has had much discussion here. As it should. (Anyone really interested should subscribe to the ayatana mailing list.)
But back to Android. I wonder how Chrome OS for netbooks...
Epiphany has never crashed for me. Chromium has never crashed for me (though plugins have and are reloaded with page refresh). Firefox crashes several times a day. Opera is not FLOSS.
It doesn't use X, it has most GNU tools but it has to be hacked in order for you to have root. There are however many Open Source and GPLed apps and thousands that are free as in beer and ad...
Urf. I didn't know to click the USB icon in the panel to manage mounting. I do now.
One problem: The Motorola mounts in 10.04 but I can't tell the size of the available disc space so don't know if it's some internal memory or the 16 GB microSD card. It shows some files and a...

I have the m001. The 7 inch screen is just fine because unlike the original Eee (which I also have) the tablet can be in portrait or landscape mode.
I really don't know much about Android so I'm...

Even after removing it there were further complications which I won't go into but it's installed and working now.
Thank you very much for your help.

Hi.
I have Firefox 3.6.6 (for Ubuntu canonical -1.0) in 10.04.
Adobe Flash crashes. I've uninstalled and reinstalled through CLI, through Synaptic, through Adobe's website using the .deb. and...

Really? I was sure that sabdfl wanted non-interactive popups, no borders, nothing clickable. These are kind of the opposite of that.
Anyway, thanks, Lance.
I'll just stay with my 8.04 style...
Bonus: The notifications just hang there until an option is clicked and in the case of Forecastfox it takes over the current browser window and goes to the weather site.
EDIT:
That behaviour was...
All right. I've done that.
To test, I had someone in my contacts list sign out of Pidgin and back on. I had a pop-up appear in the centre of the screen notifying they were online with buttons for...

Hi.
After dist upgrading to 10.04, the Nvidia graphics driver is not activated. When I click the activate button a pop-up says "You are not authorized to perform this action."
How can I sudo...
