Connecting to Windows Server 2003, login screen, user, password OK, desktop pops up then remmina dies.
I wonder if you ever found a solution; I've got an AOpen FM56-USB2 modem which is identified as "ID 0572:1234 Conexant Systems (Rockwell), Inc. Typhoon Redfun Modem V90 56k" and am hopeful that I can...
I guess this https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kvpnc/+bug/849090 is the next step in escalating this issue.
I went to openSUSE 11.4 and didn't encounter this problem.
I've come back to Ubuntu 11.10 beta 1 and there is more detail when booting, thanks to the powers that be!
I wiped out that machine and installed openSUSE 11.4. I've been using KVpnc on openSUSE for a few months and never once had this problem.

It settles down after a while.
I left it connected for 24 hours and when I came back to it, it had stopped reseting itself every 4 minutes.
Oops, my original subject should have said "minutes" instead of "seconds." This fixes that.
Also, after I've VPNed in for about 10 hours it stops reseting itself every 4 "minutes."
Maybe I...

When I KVpnc into a client VPN I connect, but every 4 minutes, or so, I am reconnected. Since I'm RDPing into their server remmina (and rdesktop too) loose their mind and I have to manually reconnect...
It helped not at all Brian. You might try it in 11.04 and notice that nothing seems to provide the detail display. But, thanks; I really appreciate you trying this for me!
Hi CVGH;
My /etc/default/grub (that's what you are suggesting I change, right?) only contains
GRUB_TIMEOUT=10
GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR=`lsb_release -i -s 2> /dev/null || echo Debian`and I ran...

It happens with every 11.04 I've tried, LIVE CD, HD installed, tweeked GRUB; though I've never specifically tried a LIVE USB stick.
Dear linuxinstalledfromhdd;
Your suggestion to make GRUB_TIMEOUT=10 instead of the GRUB_TIMEOUT=3 I had made no difference to the display after the timeout completed. Perhaps I did not make myself...
I appreciate your attempt to help, and I'll be trying your suggestion in a few minutes; but, did you realize the definition of GRUB_TIMEOUT per the manpage is:
‘GRUB_TIMEOUT’
Boot the default entry...

I have a several second blank screen between my GRUB2 menu and the login screen. Ubuntu versions prior to 11.04 would show me what's going on instead of only showing a blank screen. Can I change my...
This is a really good question flyeng4! I've wondered the same thing several times. Have you found a solution to your problem? (Care to share?)
I just do-release-upgrade -ed to 10.10 from 10.04. Then:
apt-get update && apt-get -y dist-upgrade && if [ -e /var/run/reboot-required ]; then echo "REBOOT required"; else echo "Not required to...
Your rdesktop suggestion has proven invaluable, thanks! rdestop alone comes up just fine.
Now I can fiddle with grdesktop settings and figure out why mstsc works out of the box but grdesktop fails...
No it goes directly to the black box and never does anything else.
On the xrdp server there is nothing added to /var/log/sesman.log, and there is no xrdp-sesman.log.
Thanks to everyone that's gotten xvnc and xrdp working so I can RDP to an Ubuntu machine then login as the appropriate user. mstsc works fine from WindowsServer2003 to my Ubuntu10.04 server setup...
