    Re: Disable Skype 4.3 autostart

Are you sure it is Ubuntu and not Xubuntu? I think only Xfce behaves like that.

  8. Re: Flash working in both Chrome and FireFox?

My guess is that you are using Chromium rather than Chrome. Chrome/Chromium have recently dropped support for NPAPI plugins (including system flash) and you haven't noticed that before because...
  9. Re: Thinking about staying with Ubuntu 14.04

I think Mir will be the default for 15.10 and I expect it to be buggy (they have to push it out before the next LTS) I don't want to keep upgrading (I mean reinstalling the next version, I don't do...

    Re: Compile from Source

Another way is to just make a symlink

    sudo ln -s /home/michael/User-Install/usr/bin/audacious /usr/bin/audacious

    same with vlc etc.

    Re: Compile from Source

Well that is because you installed in a non standard place called /home/michael/User-Install/usr/ instead of just /home/michael/

I also did it many times. What I gave you is the complete instructions.

  18. Re: Thinking about staying with Ubuntu 14.04

It took about 3 months after release to iron out some bugs in 14.04 and it will probably take as much time to do that for 14.10, so I probably will not look at it til Jan, I am staying with 14.04 for...

This is sort of 'fixed' since FF29(?), now FF will load and open current tab (if you save tabs) without waiting for ABP, the trade off is that you may see some ads when FF loads the first saved tab...
