Re: Gateway LT2104u Netbook - Spotty Wireless

Sorry to be late to the game, but try switching from Network Manager to wicd. My LT2104u won't work reliably on Windows 7 either wired or wireless. But I get decent service on Slackware using wicd.
  2. Re: Is it illegal to install Ubuntu on Apple computers/laptops?

Several years ago my Intel iMac video card went flaky (tearing and ripping). It did this with Mac OSX and with Ubuntu but only when compiz was turned on. Without Compiz it worked fine. I took it...
  3. [ubuntu] AT&T Quicksilver 3g Broadband Modem in Karmic

In 9.04 Network Manager doesn't handle this modem (successfully), but I was able to get it working using pharscape.org's tools. In 9.10 it's a different story. Bare metal installs on a 3 year old...

If the modem is being recognized as a mass storage device then it sounds like you might not have ozerocdoff working properly. In any case, you might also try the Pharscape forums for assistance:...

OMG! Thank you. I have the same model laptop and never was able before to get the speakers to mute when the headphone was plugged in. Can't believe even the media keys work.

Have you uninstalled wicd and re-installed NetworkManager?
  8. Re: gui problem on the last few update for nbr version on eeepc 701

If you're looking for stability you might want to try latest stable UNR - Jaunty. You'll be more likely to find help with problems, as well.

    [ubuntu] Re: AT&T Quicksilver & 9.04???

Another way that I got to work is to use this command in terminal:

sudo pppd ttyHS1 460800 nodetach defaultroute noipdefault noauth lock usepeerdns connect 'chat "" "at" "" "at" "OK" "at&f" "OK"...
  10. [ubuntu] Re: Can't update anything. UpdateManager&Synaptic.

I was having similar problems today, but after running the update about the fifth time it was finally able to download all the updates just a few minutes ago (US repository).

    [ubuntu] Re: AT&T Quicksilver & 9.04???

I did get the QuickSilver working with Jaunty using HSOconnect and Ozerocdoff. What version of HSOconnect are you using and what did you enter in your connection profile? I found that the...
  12. [ubuntu] Re: iCon 401 3G USB modem not connecting in Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty)

Unfortunately, this doesn't work for me for the Icon 322 3G (AT&T QuickSilver).
  13. [ubuntu] Re: iCon 401 3G USB modem not connecting in Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty)

I finally got the AT&T QuickSilver broadband modem working with Jaunty using HSOconnect build 128 from PHARscape.

You've probably found a solution by now, but I just got my Quicksilver yesterday. I couldn't get it to work with HSOconnect or with network-manager. But then just now I downloaded the hso.ko...

[ubuntu] Re: Delay with midi sounds

Try using fluidsynth instead of timidity. You'll need the fluidsynth, fluid-soundfont-gm and qjackctl packages.

Do you experience the same latency natively outside of virtualbox?

I'll second the motion. For those of us who religiously change our user password regularly, changing the keyring password has got to be accessible on a menu somewhere.
