I am interested in using Deja Dup. From my tests on small backups it looks good. I want to set up my computer to backup to my ssh server. This is a laptop though.
If it starts a backup will it...
Ah-Ha! I fixed it.
My speculation that Ubuntu would pick it up on original live-cd boot was true. That got me thinking, "Is the card just disabled?"
The card is eth0, so I ran:

In Debian my ethernet card worked as expected, but in Ubuntu it does not work properly. Am I missing a driver or something?

HI all,
I am having trouble with window resizing in Netbeans. It doesn't seem to anchor to the right places. I made a video comparing an application that does the right thing to my GUI, which...
Hey guys,
I recently bought a new monitor that I want to take good care of. Currently the monitor is right next to a window that sun shines though. I have heard of sun causing damage to monitors, so...
I made a video of what is happening. Basically, the window keeps growing. is there any way to fix this? I know I can access the same information from the side panel, but it is odd that this is a...
great. thanks!
I have 2 computers running 11.04 and I was wondering what I had to do to make them the same as possible. I think to keep all my settings I would just need to sync the data in /home/.* and /etc/...
You must realize that Ubuntu, the Unity version, is not going to run as fast as Windows XP. You are comparing operating systems with over a a ten year difference.
Attached is a screenshot of what my problem is. I hover my mouse over the objects and I get an odd box below them. Any way to get this to be normal or is this normal?(I have never used Eclipse...
There was a guy from this forum that had a blog and wrote about 30 days of the command line using Ubuntu. I wish I could find that to link it...
EDIT: found it, but site is dead....
Thanks, but I still have some problems.
See, I have a script that connects with ssh. If the user has never connected to that host before they will be prompted. If they have, however, they won't...
Is there a way, after running the ssh XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX command to ask "Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)?" every time that it is ran?

# -*- coding: utf-8 -*-
# generated by wxGlade 0.6.3 on Fri Jul 8 14:39:48 2011
import wx
# begin...

Yep :) Just did this. A lot faster than messing with other software.
Just save the code as savemystuff and execute
./savemystuffone level above the directory of the folder(so you can see it)....
It was wxglade, which is very minimal but does the job well when it doesn't mess up.

Maybe start off smaller. Make a text-based environment in which the user can interact. For example:
1) Internet
2) Text Editor
3) Package Manager
What would you like to open?
Get that...
Well see, it kind of sets up like Dropbox, where it asks where you want to sync from, sync to, etc.
This will not work(to my knowledge) as Visual Studio has a different compiler than Eclipse(g++). This will cause errors to arise when compiling your current programs and when executing your new...
