I have SX 205 epson now I can run xsane as user and not only as root

just run xsane successfully as user (no sudo)
well
sudo gedit /lib/udev/rules.d/40-libsane.rules
and add at the file:
# Epson SX-205
ATTRS{idVendor}=="04b8", ATTRS{idProduct}=="0849",...

I did it but does not work for me in my 9.10 system
So if someone have the same problem here is what I did:
I install from synaptic libsane extras
Dint work again
After that I did
sudo gedit...

@mike0020 it works, but you have to uncomment the "prepend domain-name-servers" line ;)

if you have 3D compiz on, turn it off and google earth will work.

and I have problem with Audacity, but if I try to disable from synaptic pulseaudio,
then ubuntustudio desktop will be removed too...

I just want to say that the first command

sudo apt-get remove ndiswrapper
will not be useful for other people, they have to ignore this command and start from the second.
you needed...

open the terminal and give

sudo apt-get remove ndiswrapper
then open synaptic and apply these

ndisgtk 0.83-1
ndiswrapper-common 1.50
ndiswrapper-utils-1.9
b43-fwcutter 1:011-1

when you start your pc at the log in screen before you give name and pass at the menu sessions you will chose Gnome or KDE every time .

when you want to resize partitions you MUST take first a back up.
in case that something go wrong and then you will lost your files.

you cant resize resize you partitions without live cd.

do you have desktop or laptop?
did you try to use the Fn button + up/down arrow?

I am not very sure but with these plugin I can see it
so first try to install these plugin to firefox.

You can do it from synaptic package manager.
Just check "kubuntu-desktop" and apply...

Alternative, if you want, you can install zenmap.

sudo apt-get install zenmap

give to the terminal
lspci
you will find all cards there.
"network controller" is your wirelless card.
