You're sure it works on the D150? Do you know if it was a kernel patch or an acpi patch? I'd like to avoid using a different distro if possible.

I agree. I read somewhere that acpi or the kernel need to be updated/patched. Something about acpi thinking the lid is sending multiple close events and only 1 open event, so even if it does...
You can upgrade, clean install would be best, but you can upgrade...
either do
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade or use the GUI update manager. I think you need to do
update-manager -d to get it to...
Weird. I didn't have a lid event... I had a lidbtn event. I added the lid event, restarted acpid, and my machine went into a suspend loop... Removed it, restarted acpid, everything's back to...
On mine, when I close the lid, nothing happens... At all. I can suspend/resume manually no problem. Everything works after resume too which is great. I checked my power preferences and it is set to...
Is there any reason you cannot upgrade to jaunty? 9.04?
Realistically, everything that you want works out of the box there.
It seems like the kernel in hardy doesn't fully support everything you...
Any idea if that Linux4One supports suspend/resume on lid close/open?
That and the hardware wifi button are the only things that don't work 100% on my Aspire One D150 with jaunty.
Spectacular. That works perfectly.
Thank you very much.
I keep telling myself that I need to know a shell scripting language, then I get swept up into something else.
This most recent...
Hmm, didn't work. When I run it, nothing happens, no output in the term and the process isn't limited, no cpulimits in htop.
Here's the script:
#!/bin/bash
PIDS=$(ps -eo pid | grep...
Hey,
I don't really need to cpulimit on multiple PIDs, just one of the last 4 would work.
I'll try your script though, can't hurt to limit all of them.
Thank you very much for all of your help.
That helps a lot, thank you. There is an issue with your ps/grep combo...
Here's the output from the ps and grep:
6365 sh -c ./FahCore_a0.exe -dir work/ -suffix 01 -checkpoint 15 -verbose...
An example is: Folding@Home, I have it set up to use a service, so at boot it starts working.
I don't want to dedicate a full core to it though. I can manually cpulimit the PID, however
I'd like...
I really hate to bump my thread, but I'm having real issues with this
and the speed at which this forum moves, I should avoid starting topics in the middle
of the night from now on...
Thank you, your time and effort is much appreciated.
I know how to run a single process through cpulimit,
is there a way to limit a boot service with cpulimit?
I see that there is a way to limit...
I get 82-85 fps.
I've got a 2.66ghz Core2Duo and an NVidia 8800GTS with 320mb of ram
Hi,
When I try to "tune in" to a stream with streamtuner, most of the channels will load audacious and then audacious will crash.
Some channels work great.
I did a bunch of searching on google...
Has anyone gotten this to work in Intrepid? Supposedly you now have to use the canon 3.0 drivers, they have an "_" in the device name that cups won't allow anymore. I can't get the 3.0 drivers to...
I think you and I are having the same problem, except I'm using ubuntu, not kubuntu. Might be an all-variants thing. It works, but looks terrible, when I use a different driver. If I use the canon...
If you use the symbolic link in the post above yours, it will work.
I had the same issue.
