  1. Re: Live USB won't launch in persistent mode on all computers

Alright, it finally worked. For anyone looking this up in the future

The Problem: The live USB program created the casper-rw partition on the HDD instead of the flash drive. And apparently Ubuntu...
  2. Re: Live USB won't launch in persistent mode on all computers

I'm falling in love with this program, its an amazing partition manager.

    Yep, already done.

I'm going to test it out after I delete that partition from my HDD, I'll probably mark this...
  3. Re: Live USB won't launch in persistent mode on all computers

Right after I posted I realized what happened. The program never created the casper-rw partition on the USB, it did it on my hard drive both times. Looking at my flash drive, this is what it looked...
  4. Re: Live USB won't launch in persistent mode on all computers

The program I used for the Live USB created the persistent partition for me, I just expanded it later.

I have literally no Idea what the hell is going on, but I just recreated my live USB,...
  5. Re: Live USB won't launch in persistent mode on all computers

Problem is, not all the computers I'm planning to use this USB on support 64 bit operating systems.

Anyways, I'm still making the new USB and i'll see if everything works fine now.
  6. Re: Live USB won't launch in persistent mode on all computers

Well, I started trying the new account thing, and I think it was working, but I didn't get to finish my PC shut down the wrong way and now the USB will only start in live mode, so I'm just going to...
  7. Re: Live USB won't launch in persistent mode on all computers

I'll check if there is tomorrow. How do I isolate it?

Just a quick thought before I head off to bed. Maybe the reason none of it is showing up is because it isn't giving me the option to log into...
  8. Re: Live USB won't launch in persistent mode on all computers

If any of them did, it would have to be the original computer because its the one thats different, but I know the original is using the USB's casper-rw partition because I see everything saving...
  9. Re: Live USB won't launch in persistent mode on all computers

Actually I figured that out, it didn't help.
  10. Re: Live USB won't launch in persistent mode on all computers

Here is a picture of my boot settings

Also, because the UEFI page mentions it, my computer boots to this screen

  11. Re: Live USB won't launch in persistent mode on all computers

The Disk creator made the partition, and I expanded it.

It wouldn't boot at all at first. Then i turned off safeboot and it worked. But booting isn't the problem, it just doesn't seem to be...
  12. Re: Live USB won't launch in persistent mode on all computers

Looking around some more, my newest guess at the problem is that the casper-rw partition isn't working on any computer other than the original.
  13. Re: Live USB won't launch in persistent mode on all computers

I Just confirmed that the other Windows 7 PC also uses UEFI.

Edit: I just tried it on a vista machine that uses BIOS, it didn't help. But something else I noticed was that it does save data...
  14. Live USB won't launch in persistent mode on all computers

I'm very new to Ubuntu (second day using it) so I may not know all the terms of what I'm trying to say.

I set up Ubuntu on a 32GB USB drive with a 25GB partition to save all my data on. This works...
