    [ubuntu] Few bytes per second over Intranet

    I have a wired connection to my university network.
    I am getting decent speeds for external sites. [Internet]
    But strangely enough for local sites [hosted within the intranet] i am getting speeds...

    But i still can't connect, either via DHCP or via Static IP

    2 Things:

    1) Then why does karmic works super fine on some machines. If it is from the server side, then the problem should be on all clients

    2) assuming that is the problem, then any solutions?

    1) On the same LAN port, my windows machine connect.

    2) If i use the live cd of 9.10 it still doesn't connect

    3) If if use the live cd of 9.10 on some other machine on the same lan port it DOES...
