Re: Changing time stamps based on file name.

Interesting, they must have changed something. I had previously verified, /bin/sh is a link to /bin/dash (so I was specifically using /bin/bash to cover the 'bashisms'), but even after copying my...

Re: Changing time stamps based on file name.

    Well I'll be damned.

So I kind of noticed this last night, and indeed thought it was odd looking before.

The ls -l command on Debian Squeeze (which is what I am running on my workstation and...

Re: Changing time stamps based on file name.

I apologize if it sounded like I needed to ignore the DM files, and yes they have a 6 digit date as well.

Here is one example of an entire directory, and yes all of the one with dates would need...

Re: Changing time stamps based on file name.

That works perfect, except for the DM0 and DM1 exceptions.

These will also need to be added in, but I just thought it'd be simpler to use cut to get the dates out. The DM folders will have need...

Re: Changing time stamps based on file name.

    Directory structure is fairly simple.

There are multiples of each folder.

They are in the format of EOM, EDM, EDR, etc. WIth a date like MMDDYY after each.

Changing time stamps based on file name.

So we noticed a problem on our server.

We have a script that cleans up old files, based on the +mtime.

Somewhere along the lines something has caused the time stamp on folders, but not the...
  7. [ubuntu] Re: Flash libflashplayer.so 64 bit flicker with flash games

Stop playing flash games and get to work!

Try right clicking on the flash game and check the settings, there might be something there. Either that or the flash games just suck and it's causing...

Re: Bash script, needing root privileges.

I finally said 'screw it' and set it up so that you just have to run the script from the 'root terminal' that Debian puts in the menu, under Accessories.

As long as the instructions are simple...

    Bash script, needing root privileges.

    This is driving me nuts.

I can't quite get the permissions to work properly on this one.

I'm running Debian, so the sudoers file isn't set up by default.

I want to be able to just...

    [ubuntu] Re: 'Inkblot' problem

We're golden! That worked, now Inkblot works, and apparently I need more ink soon. 16% Color and 13% Black.

    So as a quick overview;

Check first to see if you have /dev/usb/lp0 (older versions...

    [ubuntu] Re: 'Inkblot' problem

I've been trying to get inkblot to work for several releases. Seems that you can go into gconf-editor and tell it to look for USB devices. The problem is that the device names have all been...

  13. [all variants] Re: IBM xSeries 100 + integrated chipset ATI ES1000

This is a regression of the ATI driver.

It semi worked on Suse 10.0, but is horribly broken in every distribution I've tried Fedora 9, Suse 10.3, 11.0, Ubuntu 8.04, and Kubuntu 8.04. Debian Etch...
  14. Re: Which sequel should be made according to you?

Myth had two sequels, the second one was even released as a Linux Native game.

The sequels I would love to see (and some of them have been in the works for a very long time)

    Duke Nukem! :D ...

That's correct about the refresh rates, though with color depth the difference between 24bit and 32bit are not noticeable because the extra 8bit is for the alpha channel to handle transparencies and...

Re: Huh? What do I do at this screen?

You have to run all dpkg or apt-get or aptitude type commands with 'sudo' first. So the proper command should be 'sudo dpkg --configure -a'
