Yes.. upgrading to 12.10
i'm having this issue as well..any solution yet? I have a HP DV7 with ATI graphics.
any update? and any new fixes?
I have no more issues. They must have fixed in the latest updates.
I found another work around. Just hit num lock when the issue occurs.
So any suggestions for a mix or playlist with different files?
Same here. Putting my laptop in stand by and turn on again usually fixes it for a few more hours.
Same here, tried similar steps as the OP and I have the same video card as the above poster. This is really an annoying issue. Seems to happen once per day unless I restart..
Does this happen on...
Sucks I got to use a cd though..:( ..
yeah but FlashVideoReplacer don't work with chrome and I love unity so don't want to disable it since it's so new and interesting to me.
So, any progress on the issue yet?
Same issue during a upgrade to 11.04 :( ..looks like a clean install..damn it!
I like the idea. I'm gonna try and see if it works out ok. I'll let you know.
Well thank you for all the information. This is really helpful! I guess I will just have to work with this method for now until Ubuntu gets more advanced/friendly in the area.:)
Great point! I would try this if I haven't already gotten a dedicated windows machine ..I just wish someone would make a just as good sam alternative for linux already with agc :)
Guys if I back up my home folder and restore it on a new installed system will all my applications be restored??
Guess I'm asking for a impossible thing.
If got to use a old version just to get things to work 50% then its not worth the effort and time to setup..
Thanks for the reply guys! I'm looking for a program that can back up all the applications installed as they are and then restore them to a new system. If possible let me select which to not install...
I love Ubuntu and spent hours if not days getting it to work how I want it to. I am trying my best to keep using it but one thing I hate is resetting up everything on a new install. I am...
thanks but how is your solution any different, better than this:
Same issue here on my HP dv7 with ATI graphics and a dell monitor as my second...also having video tearing issues..will ubuntu ever get better??..these bugs have been around a long time!
Can't believe this bug was never fixed! It's annoying as hell. I've installed Ubuntu on at least 5 client machines since 9.04 and this keeps happening...5/10 boot ups the panel icons would rearrange...
I guess I'm lucky since flash takes up 50% on mine playing normally but when I go 1080p it eats up 80% and full screen 98%..in windows, it eats up 40% in full screen..I have a core 2 duo with ATI...
Still missing alot of features..but happy at least someone as taken up the task. I wish it had AGC though!
