@Forrestcupp: They're not supposed to. But you can if you use a program that allows it, such as iPhoneExplorer. You can then get into the root if you've jailbroken it.
I have solved my issue, by...
I was wondering if on Linux, there is a way to transfer files to the root of the iPad (it is jailbroken), much like you can on mac and windows using iPhone Explorer.
Well that saved me a lot of time and energy. Thanks!
From my understanding, Edubuntu is more for administering classrooms, and the educational software on it is for more elementary students. I'd like a more high school/college level remix.
Lately I've been toying with the idea of making a Ubuntu remix that centers around what a student or a scholar might need. This would lend itself to ebook software and other educational tools.

Excellent, same with me. My old computer science teacher is a sub now, so I can't ask him for exercises or anything. Luckily, spring break is coming up for me (I'm a sophomore) so I can spend some...
Damn, this thread got wayyyy off of topic. In answer to the OP's original query, I have experience in Java, and would like to start learning C. If you'd like to start a correspondence, send me a PM...
I think he means get rid of government, all that fancy stuff.
What's so special about Mercury?
I'd make health care free (public, but with a private option), make a more transparent government, as well as start a movement to put a laptop in every home (running Linux, to cut expenses) with wifi...
Thank you very much, Bluelamp. It worked perfectly! :D
I'm a ubuntu vet but I'm re-migrating from Mac OS X, and I've grown accustomed to having my window controls (close, maximize, minimize) to the left. I used to know how to make this happen in Ubuntu,...
I want the kindle PC apps for Ubuntu. It's out for Mac and for PC, so it shouldn't be too hard to port a Linux version.
I love Voltaire and Diderot.
I do love KDE, it's just that a lot of my apps use Gnome stuff.
Going to try Sidux with KDE.
From my understanding, and I fully admit I could be wrong here, is that Ubuntu makes some modifications on Gnome, to make it more user friendly. Most of these I don't have a problem with, it's more...
Anyone around here use Sidux heavily? It seems like a good option for me to look into.
Or I can try to install Debian again, so I can have Gnome. Anyone here like Debian with sid?
Normally I'd use Ubuntu, but Karmic Koala had sound problems with my computer, and also took forever to boot up. Also, I don't really like the direction where Ubuntu is going. While Jaunty was...
Unlike many people here, I heavily recommend going for the latest release and NOT the LTS. The LTS doesn't have the latest technology and probably has some outstanding bugs that have been released...
Haha, love Win 7 Secure Edition.
Okay, so let's say that Microsoft does go bankrupt (which I heavily doubt), and can't operate business anymore (which has a 0.01% chance happening at this point), why do we seem to think that Linux...
About to start reading The Wilderness Warrior: Theodore Roosevelt and the Crusade for America by Douglas Brinkley
According to that chart, I used to be a nerd. I am now a geek, and hopefully will always be a geek.
