[all variants] ushare and Ubuntu wireless settings

My current setup is Xbox360 and Ubuntu 8.10 pc are in different rooms, both using Wireless G connections on a Linksys router. The PC has a USB wireless card.

I've read that ushare doesn't work...
  3. Re: HOW TO: The Ultimate XBOX 360 Multimedia Sharing Guide

Thanks for the guide on ushare. I have it installed successfully, but it looks like Wireless G is not good enough to run the stream.

Are there any MTU size changes or other TCP/IP Configuration I...
  4. [kubuntu] Re: Just upgraded to 8.10, annoying grey bar covering maximize, minimize, close butto

This isn't a VM. Its running on an old Proliant ML110 tower server.
  5. [kubuntu] Re: Just upgraded to 8.10, annoying grey bar covering maximize, minimize, close butto

I installed kwin-style-dekorator from Synaptic and it was the KDE4 version. It was not installed previously. However, if I run kwin --restart from the Konsole, it still gives the same feedback and...

  7. [kubuntu] Re: Just upgraded to 8.10, annoying grey bar covering maximize, minimize, close butto

When I left or right click on the grey bar, nothing happens.

When opened a console and typed kwin --replace, then entire screen redrew itself including the grey bar.

    The terminal says...
  8. [kubuntu] Re: Just upgraded to 8.10, annoying grey bar covering maximize, minimize, close butto

Here you go....Thanks for looking at it!

It seems that the image gets much smaller when uploaded to the forums as an attachment. I can upload to a website if its still hard to see.
  9. [kubuntu] Re: Just upgraded to 8.10, annoying grey bar covering maximize, minimize, close butto

Here is a screenshot after I used FreeNX to connect in. Notice the grey bar at the top just under my Windows bar with the minimize, maximize, and close buttons? This is the bar in KDE I can't get...

  11. [kubuntu] Re: Just upgraded to 8.10, annoying grey bar covering maximize, minimize, close butto

Thank you for your response. It seems their problem is different than mine. They have an issue with their title bars disappearing -- where as my screen has a constant grey bar across the top that...
  12. [kubuntu] Re: Just upgraded to 8.10, annoying grey bar covering maximize, minimize, close butto

Thanks for the tip, but it didn't work. When I hit F11 and Firefox went to full screen mode, this grey bar still covered its features. Going back to regular mode and closing and re-opening firefox...
  13. [kubuntu] Just upgraded to 8.10, annoying grey bar covering maximize, minimize, close buttons

So I have pretty much successfully upgraded my KUbuntu 8.04 to Kubuntu 8.10. The only problem I have is that this grey bar is across the top of my screen and I have to close my Windows by going to...

[kubuntu] Re: Problem with KDE 4.1?

Are you logging in with the Default Profile? Make sure you choose KDE4 when you are at the screen typing your user name and password.

[kubuntu] Re: How do I cancel apt-get install?

What I had to end up doing was force the install on everything, then remove the stuff I didn't really want there.

There seems to be no way to clear installs of things that are 'stuck'.

[kubuntu] Re: How do I cancel apt-get install?

Nope, that won't do it either:

    amanda@kubuntu804:~/x360MediaServe$ sudo apt-get install freenx --ignore-missing
    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state...

[kubuntu] Re: How do I cancel apt-get install?

    Don't think that did it:

    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
