I did "ssh-copy-id -i ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub servername" and it outputted the expected response. Still, using ssh servername asks for the passphrase.
I'm using xmonad BTW, if there's a GNOME program...
Hi, I have generated SSH keys and copied id_rsa and id_rsa.pub to local and remote .ssh folders. Still when I do "ssh remoteserver" I have to enter passphrase. What am I missing?
I've checked that...
I think it's a big split and I'm not too happy about it. Surely there's other places where effort is needed in Linux land. Canonical is a company though, yeay capitalism. I'd rather have them support...
I remember using something like Window Maker along time ago. Tried getting back into it, but I kept using GNOME 2. Now with Unity and GNOME 3 I've moved onto XMonad full time. Maybe I'll give Window...
Amazon spyware bundled with Ubuntu. It's not good. Anyhow, can't one just install the server edition and add xmonad 'n' stuff oneself?
Go for gold. Emacs and LaTeX.

Not to interrupt the good talk here, but I managed to achieve what I wanted to do. Here's what I did:
Put Windows 7 on a USB stick (NTFS)
Resized a partition on the HDD leaving about 40 GB free...
Is there somewhere online you could put these notes on Windows 7 (and Linux)? A Ubuntu wiki, AskUbuntu or maybe some Stack Overflow place? Information wants to be free etc.

Another thing, do I have to keep the boot flag on the HDD?...
Hi, I've been running Ubuntu 12.04 and I'm looking to install Windows 7 to dual boot. Here's my drive layout:

Yes, something like maximus -- good find, I'll try it -- but also take the application menu and move it to GNOME panel next to Terminal icon, if you look at the screenshot in the link. I don't know...
I think there are jobs programming Python, and CLI is a powerful tool if done right. It won't hurt adding a Qt GUI though, where applicable.
Have you considered joining an open source project...
Hey, just got an idea, someone's probably thought of this earlier, but I'd like to see GNOME use the screen more wisely.
On widescreen running fullscreen apps there's a lot of space that gets...
There's a lot of work you can't get comfortably and efficiently done on small touch devices. So for consumers, maybe so, but for work there's still a market.
Slowly slowly goes the night...
Since Civilization V is available on Crapple, I expect it will be made available for Linux also. At least that's what I'm counting on...

Thinking of trying out Instapaper to read articles on Kindle. Anyone tried that? Is it any good, I mean, the quality of the web page on the Kindle?

Is it allowed to bump threads on this forum? Or is it frowned upon? Should I try swimming on #ubuntu on irc?

For information I went with /usr/local/flex-sdk. Looks good and Eclipse builds SWF-files just fine.
