    I'm glad to hear that the WUSB54GC adapter works fine with Ubuntu 8.10. I just had a client purchase one and I wasn't exactly sure that it would work with Ubuntu. So relieved that it does.

    I solved my problem. I changed the Gizmo5 sound settings to use OSS instead of ALSA. Restarted Gizmo5 client and it worked.
