[SOLVED] Re: New Build EXTREMELY Laggy / Hanging

I tested my old RAM with Memtest and it passed just fine, but bought two new sticks anyways. Same results.

Whether I'm running LIVE from a disc or USB, it's still laggy, which leads me to believe...

[SOLVED] New Build EXTREMELY Laggy / Hanging

So, this all happened about a year ago. When I click the Unity icon to pop up the menu for example, it will hang and although I can move the mouse around, most of the time the window is unresponsive...
  6. [ubuntu] Re: Desktop constantly stalling / crashing on Ubuntu

After about 20 minutes of loading I'm in. Similar symptoms as previous installs so far. Installing some updates and then I'll update you.
  7. [ubuntu] Re: Desktop constantly stalling / crashing on Ubuntu

It just switched to the "ubuntu" loading screen with 5 dots on it. All dots are solid orange and not changing so far.

I almost want to say this has something to do with the Intel fast-boot on...

  12. [ubuntu] Re: Desktop constantly stalling / crashing on Ubuntu

I just did a fresh install of Ubuntu. No improvement what so ever. I am getting the "Force Quit" a lot more frequently now. Tried the 32-bit version with same results. Please help!
  13. [ubuntu] Re: Desktop constantly stalling / crashing on Ubuntu

It's quite annoying. I have a single core desktop with 1 GB of RAM that runs Windows XP faster than my new desktop. And the worst part is that not all of the resources are being allocated when the...

  15. [ubuntu] Desktop constantly stalling / crashing on Ubuntu
