I wanted to upgrade my Dell Studio 1749 to 11.04 via a fresh install.
But, I could not for the life of me figure out why the Natty 11.04 Live CD would not boot...

It is insane behaviour. Might it be related to buggy Compiz plugins combined with Unity? Looking for a solution as well...

Thanks a lot produnis, these seem like some helpful tips - I'll give this a try and report in if it works for me too.

Same problem here (Brand new Dell laptop, 10.10 installed, Broadcom BCM43224 Wifi N chip)
Funny enough I can connect to the 5Ghz network (Netgear WNDR3700) when searching for hidden networks. But...
I used to get digital stereo out of my PC just fine. Now I have the same problem - albeit with the COAX digital out of my ASUS M2N32. Tried upgrading to Lucid 10.4, still no dice.
Iv'e got the same kind of problem on a USB stick install and normal WiFi...

I tried that to no avail, every option (OSS, ALSA, Pulse) works but the crackles, pops, choppiness, noise is still the same.
Would love to fix that. Soundblaster 16 not recognized in Vista guest...
I have the same problem with my headset, a Logitech HS02-07. I once got it connected manually but still did not manage to get any sound through it. Why is bluetooth support so abysmal in ubuntu? Does...
Used to be Azureus (in Windows, followed by uTorrent) and in Ubuntu at first back to Azureus, but now l'm liking the low memory footprint of Deluge.
@iGama
The feisty repositories don't work anymore. Haven't tried the ones for edgy as i'm running 7.04. I think the link is outdated.
Woohoo.
Now to explain to my non-nerd friends why I've been excited all day. Not that they would understand of course... (Ooowwwboooowhat?)
Now gimme the bittorrent link!
I'd sign it! Can you provide us with a link?
