[gnome] Re: Does Unity actually work with nvidia cards?

I had this problem, too, and don't know what caused it. I resolved it by uninstalling the binary drivers, rebooting, and reinstalling the binary drivers.

    [gnome] Gnome panel calendar placement

I typically have my desktop set to use just one panel at the bottom of the screen closer to the Windows style -- sue me, I prefer it. Strangely, when I click on the indicator-clock it pops open the...

It is possible that you are experiencing freezes related to this Nouveau bug. If you have Nvidia hardware but wish to use Nouveau, please try adding nouveau.noaccel=1 to your boot options as...
  6. [ubuntu] Re: Origami (Folding@Home) fails to work on 10.04

Thank you. It is mentioned that there is an incompatibility with the version of glibc installed in 10.04

I suppose I will just have to wait.
  7. [ubuntu] Origami (Folding@Home) fails to work on 10.04

  8. [ubuntu] Re: Compiz Grid -- Emacs/Terminal Resize Wrong

Well, as a temporary workaround I started using the XFCE terminal in place of the Gnome one. I'm not sure if it's coincidence based on the borders, or what, but it resizes more accurately when using...
  9. [ubuntu] Compiz Grid -- Emacs/Terminal Resize Wrong

I use the Compiz Grid plugin as my main way of arranging windows on the desktop but have an annoyance with it. Some programs, most notably Emacs and Gnome Terminal, resize as expected but then...
  10. [ubuntu] Re: Manual Brightness Overwritten by Power Manager

Thanks for the idea. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work; if I try to adjust the slider either with the buttons or by moving the bar the widget just closes. I'm using the binary nVidia driver and...

Re: Brightness Not Adjustable, NVIDIA Driver

Thanks, this is my first NVIDIA-based laptop so I wasn't aware it was an existing problem.

I'll give your suggestion a try.
