    [ubuntu] Last update broke Xorg

The last "Software Update," where there was a kernel update broke Xorg. ddcprobe shows that I have a GK104 Board - 20040001 Chip Rev, memory 14336kb; this is NVIDIA graphics. I am running Intel Core...

    [ubuntu] Software Updater

The software updater on Ubuntu 14.10 has frozen up. It shows as green indicating an update but I cannot open by clicking on it. Wondering why this is.
  10. [ubuntu] Re: Thunderbird does not delete junk or emails giving error messages.

No fix offered and the case is closed.
  11. [ubuntu] Re: Thunderbird does not delete junk or emails giving error messages.

    No, local IP email.
  12. [ubuntu] Re: Thunderbird does not delete junk or emails giving error messages.

I've got this "Alert:" "Unable to locate mail spool file." Maybe someone can assist me in making this spool file and putting it where it belongs.
  13. [ubuntu] Re: Thunderbird does not delete junk or emails giving error messages.

Moving through instructions I am finding that my problem still exists; unable to delete emails. "profiles.ini" exists and consists of the content you listed. Deleting, removing, purging Thunderbird...

Seems as if Ubuntu is having growing pains where Flash is concerned. Solution is to install Chromium/Pepper Flash Player.

  16. [ubuntu] Re: Thunderbird does not delete junk or emails giving error messages.

Thunderbird lists this as local directory: /home/tom/.thunderbird/mtjiadeg.default/Mail/Local Folders. .thunderbird dirctory lists mtjiadeg.default and, in grey, unaccessible, profiles.ini. but no...
  17. [ubuntu] Re: Thunderbird does not delete junk or emails giving error messages.

Every new install brings up a configured account. Nothing is purging Thunderbird nor does Synaptic fix Thunderbird as a broken package.
  18. [ubuntu] Re: Thunderbird does not delete junk or emails giving error messages.

I've got synaptic installed but cannot find purge instead I've found marked for complete removal. This does not solve the problem.

  20. [ubuntu] Re: Thunderbird does not delete junk or emails giving error messages.

Copied/pasted purge command but thunderbird was mispelled so corrected and tried again. Seemed to have removed Thunderbird until I reloaded it and the same problem exists. Unable to delete email.
  21. [ubuntu] Re: Thunderbird does not delete junk or emails giving error messages.

It has become evident that Ubuntu has made it very difficult to find hidden files. For instance, .Thunderbird. I cannot find Synaptic nor Thunderbird and so purging Thunderbird not an option without...

Problem solved, 32 bit does not do well on a 64 bit computer. 64 bit solves the problem.
