    Re: Dell Duo Setup Guide

Does anyone know if the plug-in-the-power-it-dies-on-you thing is fixed in Precise? I know there's the amendment you can make to the GRUB line, but I miss suspend :(

[SOLVED] Re: Please help with bulk file rename

If you download Thunar from Software Centre it has a really good file renaming tool. Just highlight the files you want to rename and select Rename from the context menu.

    Then select your criteria...

  6. Re: Where have the icons gone in Karmic's [Cancel] [OK] buttons?

    Thanks for that one

Although the reasoning makes sense, it still impacts on usability for the sake of prettifying things. Form over function and all that
  7. Where have the icons gone in Karmic's [Cancel] [OK] buttons?

First they remove the orange highlight around buttons in Intrepid so that you can hardly tell it's focussed, and now they remove icons so that you can't so easily pick the right button.

    What the...

  12. [other] Re: Tips for buying an SD card for installing Ubuntu on please :)

I currently boot Ubuntu from a cheap Class 4 SD card, and wouldn't describe it as uncomfortable - just irritating :). 15Mb/s would be more than 3 times the speed of that, which would do me nicely. Or...
  13. [other] Re: Tips for buying an SD card for installing Ubuntu on please :)

So you're saying the Class 4 issue is something to ignore? That 15MB/s one was a Sandisk Ultra II - is that good enough then?

WRT the Swap thing. It's been on there over a year now and hasn't...
  14. [other] Tips for buying an SD card for installing Ubuntu on please :)

I'm looking at buying a faster SD card for my EeePC, as the current Class 4 one I have is painfully slow.

I've seen one that quotes "Write speed up to 6MB/sec, Read speed up to 20MB/sec" from...

[ubuntu] Enable Hibernation on SD card install

I've heard that Hibernation works on the eeepc (701, since you ask). I've got Ubuntu installed onto an SD card so I don't get this benefit. I can only assume the SD card isn't being mounted in time...
