  1. [all variants] Re: Best Win8 Ultrabook Touchscreen for dual-boot

Well, the Asus looks good, but 13" screen is tight. Any 14 or 15 inch models out there?
  2. [all variants] Best Win8 Ultrabook Touchscreen for dual-boot

    Hi all,

I'm overwhelmed by the myriad of choices on laptops. I'm moving from an MSI GT683 (gamer laptop).

I've considered the Inspiron 15z since it has an optical drive, but that's not a deal...

[ubuntu] Re: new kernal wont boot, old one does

You might be able to solve it anyway:

add the following to the kernel boot line:

    rootdelay=90

    and possibly add:

    irqpoll
  7. [ubuntu] Re: Gave up waiting for root device, with errno=-16

Hello all. I had to combine two suggestions from various posts. First, I did remove the jumper since it was a WD and the only drive on the cable.

On the kernel boot line, I added:

    irqpoll...
  8. [ubuntu] Re: Booting hangs unless pressing keys after 8.10 upgrade

With recent update, I noticed it isn't quite as bad... that is, I only have to hit the key on 2 or 3 hangs vice the whole thing... Anyone got ideas?
  9. [ubuntu] Re: Booting hangs unless pressing keys after 8.10 upgrade

Ditto for the problem for me. I had this issue with the LiveCD as well. My hanging starts as soon as the Boot Splash starts. I have to keep pressing keys in order to boot. And 8.10 doesn't...

Well, UCK doesn't seem to be working... and no support reply. A real shame since it looked best.
  12. Reconstructor versus UCK (Ubuntu Customization Kit)

Ok guys... been awhile since I posted, but I'm interested.

I'm wondering if many of you have compared these two programs for remastering. Basically, I want to remaster one of the Live/Install...
  13. Re: Ubuntu "Christian Edition" Need Server Space!

Don't get too excited. Most of them don't have a clue that it's wrong. I usually hear, "Look, I bought this here software. I own it. I'll install it for you to use."

When you take the time to...
