    Re: Bootable SD card

Cardroot is not a command. It is a variable that you're setting.
  3. [SOLVED] Re: odd problem running gnome-tweak-tool from terminal

What messages does it give you in the terminal output?
  4. [ubuntu] Re: Open Containing Folder In Firefox & Chrome Doesn't Highlight The File In Nautilus

As far as I know, it doesn't normally do this. I suppose it could be a setting buried in about:config somewhere, but I'm pretty sure your description is the default.

Re: Dual Boot with Kali Linux

It's completely possible and safe (assuming you do it correctly). The bootloader installed by Kali (also GRUB) will recognize the Ubuntu partition and put an entry in for it just fine.

    Re: Python 3.3 on Spyder

Check out this link for more info: http://spyder-ide.blogspot.com/2013/01/spyder-v2114-supports-python-3.html
There is also a beta of 2.3 out, currently, I believe. You could use that as well.

How did you extract the package? What error are you getting when you cd into the strife directory? What are the permissions on the downloaded archive and extracted folder?

  9. [kubuntu] Keyboard Shortcuts Stopped Working, Programs Stopped Launching

  14. Re: No "User Management" in System Settings

That's odd. I'm running Kubuntu 12.10 right now and User Management is right where it's supposed to be. Try typing "user management" into KRunner (Alt+F2) and see if it shows up.

I opened a support ticket on the System76 Web site and they said it would be no problem to replace, so I'll go ahead and mark this as solved. Thanks guys.

  24. [ubuntu] Re: Why does my laptop battery die so fast on ubuntu but not on windows?

Reading the comments in the configuration file is probably the best way to get to know LMT. You can read it without installing anything here.
  25. [ubuntu] Re: Why does my laptop battery die so fast on ubuntu but not on windows?

Battery life isn't Linux's strong point. One of the best things to do, however, is install Laptop Mode Tools:

    sudo apt-get install laptop-mode-tools
